In the traditional practice, having risen on the planes to the target sephira, the arrival at the destination is confirmed by visual imagery - comparing what is seen by what past teachers have recorded. Thus one might see a leopard or an old woman and look to see if the image had been previously recorded for that sephira.
It is obvious that such imagery is very cultural and indeed very dependent upon the inner plane faculties of the practitioner.
For a spiritual science I much prefer a navigation system that works regardless of cultures and is less dependent upon inner development.
Some humans develop other inner senses before sight. Inner touch is usually developed first. Some develop inner hearing before inner sight. Each of these faculties needs to be developed for each plane on which the human wishes to operate.
Sometimes a group meditation or a passing spirit will increase the human's inner perceptions - sharing inner plane substance that is temporarily structured into the human's field to augment a particular faculty.
Hello all, something that I have been pondering lately is if the tree of Life is offset by 90 degrees in the Lodge. Meaning the West is attributed the lunar Pilar (water), the East attributed the solar Pilar (fire), the South the lower most (earth) and finally the North the most high (air).
Is it possible that there is no chair in the North and it is said to be a place of darkness due to it being behind the veil of the abyss. Just because something is in darkness does not mean there is nothing there. Something might be there it is just hidden or occulted.
The ToL is closely matched to the layout of the temple in Holy Royal Arch but it does not work well when applied to the craft lodge. There the layout is better considered as the four rivers of Eden - with attention to the tassels. The four rivers of Eden is a veiling for the energy fields at the four corners of the temple. The reference signal is in the NE but who sits there long enough to lock on to the signal?
>no chair in the North and it is said to be a place of darkness ..Just because something is in darkness does not mean there is nothing
Quite so. In a temple with a vacant chair in the North (most do not have such) an elderly brother told me that when an apprentice, sitting next to the vacant chair in the North, he put his elbow on the armrest of the chair. Immediately his elbow was knocked off, but he could not see anyone. So he put his elbow back on the armrest and it was knocked off again. After that he knew his place.
On a couple of occasions in that temple I saw a dark figure in the vacant chair during the dark half of the 3rd degree.
The usual explanation that the North is dark because the sun does not shine there rather ignores the 24 hours of daylight in the far northern summer, and the opposite position in the southern hemisphere.
Most explanations in Masonry are at least partly wrong, but not so much that they cannot be used as a starting point for investigation.
The North of the temple is dark because the energy frequency is above the sight range of most humans.
As we discover in the MC lecture, Music, as one of the Seven Liberal Arts, utilizes this principle of dynamic symmetry inherent in the Fibanacci Series and hinted at by the Tetractys of Pythagoras, upon which the Kabalah is based.
Thus, the secret ingredient common to the 4 members of the Quadrivium: Mathematics, Geometry, Music, and Astronomy, would seem to be the Golden Mean.
Wrong. 7 Liberal Arts and its Quadrivium is an example of GOD=7_4 Theory & Masonic774 Code4; see GOD704.fandom.com .
