...most Masons don't realize is that 33* Masonry comes from Edom Edom meaning red and etymologically from the same root as Adam is used to conceal a variety of qabalistic teachings. Literal interpretations may mislead. For example, if Masonry came from Edom, does that mean that Adam was the first Freemason? So have you discovered that Solomon the Great has the same reputation/characteristics as Suleiman the Magnificent? If so the Temple of King Solomon still exists.

Pheonix Masonry uses your old pal Pike with his take on this issue Double-Headed Eagle of Lagash "As the Adept knows, the double-headed eagle is a Hermetic Symbol, representing the Divine Generative Potency, and Productive Capacity of Nature. like the human figure with two heads, one male the other female, - God and Nature; the Egypian Osiris and Isis." Long used as the insigne of a Scottish Rite Mason, the "Double Headed Eagle of Lagash" is now the accepted emblem in the United States of America of the 32 Degree. It is the oldest crest in the world. It was a symbol of power more than two thousand years before the building of King Solomon's Temple. No other heraldic bearing, no other emblematic device of today can boast such antiquity. Triangle of Perfection (Wisdom, Power, and Beauty) - made to represent the Tetragrammaton, or sacred name of God. Yahweh is the Hebrew vocalization of the Tetragrammaton יהוה. www.phoenixmasonry.org/masonicmuseum/albert_pike_statue_in_washington_dc.htmPhotos on the web page

This time last year my wife and I were in Turkey on masonic business. Many of the Brethren there believe the masonic variants to the biblical legend of Solomon the Great draw much from the life of Suleiman the Magnificent. He was a comparatively enlightened monarch for his day and those who suffered religious persecution, as in the Wars of Religion, are likely to have considered him a model of religious tolerance and inclusion. Suleiman's principal architect was Mimar Sinan, (excerpt) While not associated with the initial construction of the Dome of the Rock (al-Haram al-Sharif) in Jerusalem, it was restored and tiled during the reign of Suleiman. Sinar and his students were responsible for, among many other works, the Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque) in Istanbul.

The double-headed eagle represents one of the core entities of the ancient mysteries.
