Hello everyone, I'm having some serious trouble, and I believe it's a result of Masonic initiation (I quit the day immediately after initiation because my intuition told me something wasn't right). I have been noticing an expansion of consciousness and lighter feeling in my feet, and I fear that this power may come from an order which at its highest levels may be malicious and deceptive. Let me explain why I feel this may be so. I have read from multiple sources that the hidden name of God within Masonry is Jahbulon. A quick Google search of Jahbulon, however, returns images of one of the princes of Hell from the Lesser Key of Solomon. Keep in mind this initiation was into traditional, male-only Masonry. The upside down pentagram logo of the Order of the Eastern Star in the Lodge room was also rather unsettling. I have also learned that Masons that go through the Holy Royal Arch degree agree to keep all the secrets of their fellow Masons, murder and treason included. How can something that is of God include an oath such as this? To top all of this off, I read a passage in the Bible (which I was unaware of at the time) that reads as follows: "Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn.’ But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. And do not take an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil." Unfortunately, I feel I may have created a spiritual link between myself and something extremely evil. I remember reading that the oath binds a member for the rest of his life, and that there is no way to revoke this oath. I was also told however, that at least according to the rules of the Grand Lodge of the state that I was initiated into, that I am not yet a Freemason as I did not complete the remaining two degrees. I also read somewhere that one is linked to the order forever, even if it's against his will at a later time. Regarding the last part, I talked to a higher-up member of Builders of the Adytum, who I am assuming knows a thing or two about occultism. I was told that it is impossible to link yourself to something forever against your will, and that the last part was simply a method of controlling me through fear. In no words of the oath did I agree to be linked to Freemasonry forever. I seriously need help on this, it has got me so messed up you wouldn't believe it. I smoked probably about a 1/2 pack of cigarettes in one day, and I do not usually smoke. On top of this, I also honestly wished I were dead at one point in time. Please help.

Good try - I've seen some intentional baiting before on Masonic boards, but this is one of the better ones.

Lol, I'm not joking man. What I said is true to the best of my knowledge. You would not believe how much anxiety I've had. I don't know if it is a result of me being involved in other esoteric practices, but the Freemasonic initiation was no joke. Am I simple working myself up by reading too much, or can the emotional states that I'm describing actually take place as a result of initiation?

Also, I am an associate member of Builders of the Adytum, so I'm not sure if my involvement with their practices could have somehow made the initiation particularly powerful.

Freemasonry is a subjective past time which in turn may help with some life choices. at the end of the day the choices are yours.
If you are not comfortable as a Freemason then you quite rightly should quit and not look back.
There is no pressure to stay a Mason, you would have been asked at initiation ' do you freely and voluntarilly offer yourself as a candidate' if you had said NO - that would have been an end to it.
You would have been asked 'Do you believe in a supreme being' to which you must answer YES - if you had said NO - that would have been an end to it.
You will note that the question did not say we insist you worship our deity ? as there is not one.
These were your choices to answer truthfully - your honesty and truthfullness is a question between you and your God. As is the statements you have given above.
Where is the evil in asking a man to keep his own Faith and act according to his own beliefs.

Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the Lord stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand. And the LORD said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more: And the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.
Amos 7:7

Dude I feel it is my duty to tell you that at this point in your Masonic journey the VERY WORST thing you can do is read literature from anti masonic sources, these individuals,God bless them are EXTREMELY ignorant in relation to FM. A prime example is the "Murder& Treason" thing you mentioned, for starters this doesn't come from the R.Arch Degree, it comes from a part of the Craft that if you continue in the Blue Lodge you will come to understand, it says "Murder&Treason" EXCEPTED, as in NOT excepted.
Don't get me wrong Masonry isn't for everyone, it's not for the fundamentalist, however it's seems as if The Craft would be perfect for you, being involved in B.O.T.A. Paul F. Case was a Craftsman the founder of that order. What a brilliant Brother he was.
I hope this helps yong Brother, just make sure you make the right choice. What an error it would be to walk away from The Craft only to realize you made a mistake. UDERSTAND the opportunity you possess, I would research the psychological affects of initiation, by a MASONIC AUTHER. You'll find much helpful information. Good Luck.

Actually pointwithinacricle, that's Amos 7:7-9. Which gives me an idea since 7+7+9 = 23
Psalm 23King James Version (KJV)
23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

>Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more:
I prefer the Orthodox Jewish Bible for this verse:
7 Thus He showed me; and, hinei, Hashem stood upon a chomah (wall) made with a plumb line, and a plumb line in His hand.
8 And Hashem said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumb line. Then said Hashem, Hineni, I will set a plumb line in the midst of My people Yisroel; I will not again pass by them [and spare them] anymore;
9 And the high places of Yitzchak shall be desolate, and the mikdeshei Yisroel (i.e., heathen sanctuaries) shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the Bais Yarov‘am with the cherev.
This version has the implication that the Lord of Israel, having provided his people with a "plumb line" will no longer spare them from punishment for their sins/crimes.
The Lord it seems has provided something that can be used in a moral sense to tell right from wrong. The "plumb line" is so infallible and easy to use that there is no longer any excuse for the sins of his people.
So what is veiled by the plumb line?
The Nazi holocaust induced many Jews to ask why their god had abandoned (passed by) them.
