Good Evening, please could you give me some advice. I have been asked if I would like to join the Free Masons, and I would love to say yes but but I was convicted of Drink Driving 12 years ago and got a 9month driving ban. Does these mean I am unable to join. ? Thanks for any advice.

Probably it is not a problem but the decision will be made by the Grand Lodge and/or the lodge to which you apply. Just tell your friend the situation and ask him to check with his lodge.

I am in England, and I am pretty sure that a 12 year old driving conviction would NOT be a barrier to you joining.

We expect Freemasons to be good men, not total angels.
