In Lodge Amen-Ra men wear black or dark suits as in Malecraft but not DJs (Tuxedos) although if a male Brother wishes to they could no doubt wear one, women members wear White. We do not wear gloves but some other Lodges do and the Women Brethren can wear Black or White as they choose. In the new Lodge we are forming this choice of White or Black will be available to female Brethren.

In our lodge the men have the option to wear black or dark suits and the women have the option to wear black or white skirts or trousers, with white blouses, and black or white jackets/cardigans if necessary. The women used to wear long white everything, but we thought it time to move with the times. Some of the older brethren were a bit hesitant with the change, but now they are quite happy and look very smart in their black pants suits. We look slimmer Maat

In our lodge the women wear all white, and the men wear a black suit and bow-tie with a white shirt. The women have a choice of pants and top, skirt and top, or a dress, with a jacket, jumper or cardigan when needed. Styles are based on personal choice, although we are encouraged to have tops that are long enough so that no skin or underwear is showing as we move around. All of the skirts or dresses are mid-calf or longer. The women also wear white shoes, while the men wear black ones. We all have white gloves, though how much they are worn during a meeting varies from person to person.
A number of us when we wear skirts & tops, or dresses, also wear a white over-top that we call "wings", which is a bit like a caftan. These used to be worn by all the women in the lodge, and a number of them were delighted when they were made optional, and are now very definite that they prefer not to wear them. The "wings" are somewhat complicated to iron, but I love wearing the ones I was given as they add something special to the ritual experience for me. I still remember being overwhelmed with how beautiful these women dressed in white looked when I was initiated.
The Emulation Lodge that is part of the Orient of Melbourne wear black, which they also wear when they attend one of our meetings.

With regards to the gloves, Bro gipsyrose, I think it is not so much individual variation, but that the officers of your Lodge do not wear them whilst at labour - except for a Lodge of Mourning (or similar - I cannot recall what your Lodge calls it).
I remember being told something like that some time back when I asked. Other Lodges (such as St Johns also of the Orient of Melbourne) have the opposite preference in always wearing gloves.
Each Lodge appears to develop a particular style and ways of working (even if the same ritual is used), and have always personally very much liked the warmth and style of Southern Cross - it has an ease and care that is inviting.
But to return to the main thread - when visiting a LDH in Paris a couple of years ago, I do not recall any uniform clothing (except for the apron), but rather that each person was, though well dressed, individual in their style... but then, I similarly did not observe uniforms on high school students when once we happened to walk in the wrong street at school leaving time.
