I was reading through a Masonic book last night, and I came across an interesting subject.
Here are the questions to ask yourself.
What does Masonry mean to me?
What Masonry, does not mean to me?
Any ideas?
To hard!!

From my extremely limited knowledge and understanding so far on the subject I'm definitely not the right person to answer this and no doubt there will be others along who will be able to offer you a more enlightened perspective, but in the meantime I'll make a few comments.
I imagine that Freemasonry will depend very much on the individual; one gets from it was one puts in. It is, after all, a two-way street. And there is certainly a huge amount to be gained from being a member. One of these is, I imagine, a deep sense of belonging to something great, wonderful and the unique.

Leo,you are the right person to answer this question as it is not directed at masons specifically.
As a pre initiate it would be most interesting to see your views on this as a before and after.
Before initiation : What does it mean and not mean to you now ?
AFTER initiation : which will be soon i hope .how your opinion may have changed.
Keep a copy of your answers and review them after your initiation.
I think this would be quite an interesting thing. My thougts previous have now been altered as i know what i think now after initiation even though it was ionly a year ago tommorrow i attended my interview on my 40th birthday .
Some of my lodge members say NO you must have been here longer than that ,but i am like that little jack russell who wont stop barking and drives everyone mad.
I need to think my answers carefully on this and i believe there was a similar topic some time ago.

I was reading through my Alberta Mentor Guide last night when I came across this topic.
These two simple questions are not easy, I have a problem with them myself. I am trying to work out my own answers to them.
But I guess it does depend where you are in your life, I can see the answers changing constantly.
I posted this also in TLR forum, it is causing a bit of a struggle over there too.

TLR = The Lodge Room. At least that would be my guess Lee as to the before and after. I agree with you entirely and I will certainly keep notes. Should be an interesting comparison.

Did I open up a sore subject here, I didn't mean too.
I have been a member of TLR forum for a year now.

Did I open up a sore subject here, I didn't mean too. Not at all, RichN. It is only natural that there should be a variety of responses. Everyone will express an opinion on this from their own unique perspective.
