Taylorsman
I recall watching people, mainly women, at Chartres cathedral going to worship the black madonna. The stone pillar on which the statue was placed was quite roughened by the hands and lips of the faithful.
I enjoyed seeing the energy flow into the people as they expressed their reverence for what overtly was just a black statue. In practice, however, the Great Mother had agreed to make her energies accessible there to those who approached in due form.
Cheers

Russell, in Sicily, in the town of Tindari, people worship the Black Madonna.

The Poles also have a Black Madonna, and I think there is a Negriod Saint from South America, possibly Brazil?

The Black Madonna of Czestochowa, and Our Lady of Aparecida.
In 1995, an evangelist from the "Universal Church of the Kingdom of God" caused a virtual Jihad in Brazil by slapping and kicking an image of Our Lady of Aparecida live on TV. The saint, a Black version of Mary, is more than just a plaster idol, she is a national symbol, like the French have Notre Dame de Lourdes. She is also a positive image of Black identity for a country which has the second largest Black population in the world, after Nigeria.

How do you know that the Black Madonna is Isis?
I would contend that the Black Madonna is associated with the Pleiades and not Sirius.

I would contend that the Black Madonna is associated with the Pleiades and not Sirius. I always thought that the Black Madonna, The Great Mother, is associated to the earth. Am I wrong?

Surely we can make a test of this hypothesis.
For example, at black madonna shrines, do the energies flow from the earth or from outside the planet or from across the planet?

I don't know.
For sure, in Notre Dame de Chartres, from earth: the altar is built exactly over 7 rivers crossing, under earth.

I noticed at a number of pilgrimage sites in France and England that there was an energy from above meeting one from below. The meeting point generated an energy field in which many people had visions of females.
But my observation is that the black madonna at Chartres is held tightly by the Great Mother from beyond the Pleiades (central sun) .

Russell, i don't think that Notre Dame de Chartre is black, to the contrary, I am sure she isn't. Nevertheless what you said with regard to forces, earthly and heavenly, which match each other may be true. Being not skilled in this item, I leave it to other Brethren.

The mother Goddess has various names: Isis, Demeter, Astarte, Ischtar etc. The Mother Goddess is associated with earth and birth. Remember the Demeter kult, her daughter Persephone is taken into hades, the underworld. Demeter stops with her "life", the turning of the world ends, human beings starve because nothing can grow.... But as Persephone is freed and leaves hades, Demeter starts her life again and humans can be born, fod can be grown etc.

You might like to consider the following book: Cathedral of the Black Madonna: The Druids and the Mysteries of Chartres, published by Inner Traditions
I think the statue half way up the left side of Chartres is generally recognised as a black madonna.
But if you go down into the crypt you can get a sense of the original earth energies. Quite profound.

You mean you crept into the crypt for profound illumination?
