It occures to me that opinions on the esoteric can be classified into three broad groups:-
1. Those who have walked the path and know the sheer beauty of the esoteric, which to them is no longer esoteric. And also those who have recognised a "special moment" in their lives and who are conscientiously walking the path, who can feel, even if they may have trouble believing.
2. Those who "wannabee" esoteric, but who still rely on reading and talking as opposed to doing the hard painful work of walking. I guess that there is a comfort zone here.
3. Those who are blind to the esoteric, or who fear it. Both common and understandable. Even though the esoteric is around them at all times.
I think that it is Whistler who says that there is nothing esoteric about Freemasonry. You know he is right. It all depends on your viewpoint from your own personal level of evolution. Hopefully those in group 1, will start to spend more time helping and guiding those in group 2 to help then take the first difficult steps, who in turn will help and guide and educate those in group 3. Those who want it and are ready for it obviously.

Another thought:-
A couple of days ago I was in my attic, and a book fall at my feet so to speak. It was Unearthly Disclosure by Tim Good. I first read it I guess five years ago and then stashed it away in the attic. It is about ufos. Anyway I have skim read the first half again, and you know I have come across a passage which helps me enormously. But it only helps me now, given the internal work that I have now done and am doing, and five years ago I read the same words but I was blind to them. I am in no way suggesting that Tim Good has placed any hidden meanings in the words, for he has not, but it is only with my current level of maturity that I can appreciate the sheer validity, and importance of them.
I have explained this as it illustrates well how life works, how it gives us what we need. It is a good illustation of esoterics at work. (as in book falling at feet, eyes stopping at passage, all happening at a pertinent time, just when I needed it to happen to help me).
The fabric of our existence really is wonderful. Perhaps one day the consciousness of our people will be such that many more people can see, benefit and enjoy, the sheer poetic beauty of life.
In the meantime those that can will just have to accept being labeled as "freaks" or worse.

You might want to include a fourth group: Those who carry spiritual impulses from outside the human system. This might be as high as 10% of "humans".
Cheers

This made me recall the mental image of the angels going up the ladder one hand above and one below....the more advanced aiding the one immediately below. I think that is why a Forum like this is of immense value. The topics could be seen to go from the sublime to the ridiculous - but we categorise the threads to our own understanding....and all are valid. For non posters: Please post your ideas and comments. The wider the base the more effective the Forum becomes.

Agreed it depends on an individual point of view there is a quote from star wars that says perception forms reality and may I add its a favourite of mine .So my view is that Freemasonry is full of esoteric material but it is down to each Mason to find it. Then again life is full of esoteric material maybe that's all there is to reality.
