having just brought the new Prince CD i have observed that the title is 3121. When added these numbers make that familiar old number SEVEN. On the Cd is a track called THE WORD with the lyrics "what is this new xhaltation that just i just cant explain.what r these new inspirations that i can get out of my brain........dont you wanna know the word?.........................but we got this new xhaltation talkin bout the word........ dont u wanna get saved/ " Maybe Prince just likes a bit of symbolism and kabbalah? OR HAS HE JOINED ROYAL ARCH CHAPTER ? ;D ;D ;D ;D

My guess is he has a deep interest in symbolism and once used a symbol as his name, and only recently reverted back to his original stage name.

The beauty of symbols is that they can serve so many purposes. And mean different things to different people, and those meanings can evolve as the person viewing them evolves.
The media is strewn with them, and many popular works are ingrained with esoterics. I remember Maat gave a good account of Walt Disney and some of his films a while back, as being but one example.
Before my fingers erupted in a year long battle against peeling skin making them raw/heal/raw/heal/raw (allergy to playing cards would you believe), I used to do magic (and card magic was my favourite by far), and I made a cloak to perform in, with a symbolic badge that is important to me.
The badge severed several purposes, and most people did not really pay that much attention to it. It was interesting to note those (women typically) who intensely watched it. In case anyone is interested it was the Great Pyramid showing some of its internal structures. And yes it had its golden capstone being replaced.
Must try to get back into it and learn some tricks that won't take my fingers apart.

Prince Rogers Nelson (to give him his full name) adopted the symbol as a protest against his contract with his music company, feeling they were restricting his creativity and musical talent, and by forcing him to meet the terms of the remaining years of his contract (in terms of album output) he felt he was being treated as an object and not a human. Hence he became TAFKAP, or Symbol. I went over to the website to see if I could find out more about his inspiration for this album, www.3121.co.uk/But there wasn't much there. Someone I would definitely see in concert again, having seen both the Sign Of the Times and the Diamonds and Pearls concerts - superb. Having had a listen to some of the samples I'm going get the album some time soon.

Prince Rogers Nelson every time his back is turned ;D
Which reminds me...
There was a grand old duke of York And he had ten thousand men: If he'd've had the bloomin' energy He'd've had them all again.
