I imagine some may say it is purely coincidental but it seems that every time I take a walk in a beautiful garden, or go wandering through a forest, or even just take time to relax in nature, I tend to feel more energised and reinvigorated than I would normally feel.
Why is this so?
I imagine the conventional response is very straightforward; the closer we are to nature the stronger the connection becomes, but is there a more definitive, esoteric answer?

Leo,
Welcome to my world ... ;D
As any Pagan will tell you, the closer you get to Nature, the more energised you'll feel. Away from the distractions of civilisation, we tend to be more receptive to that which is around us all the time.
It is worth exploring the elements -- and their elementals. Find yourself a nice quiet spot and feel the elements: Earth, Air, Fire & Water. Spirit is what pulls all of them together, and carries hints of the material elements yet is something else all at once. What does the energy of Earth feel like to you? Once you've discovered that, you will be able to call upon that energy at any time, wherever you are. Likewise so for the others.
The elementals ... they are significant energies to most co-masons; at least those working a ritual that derives from the Dharma-family of rituals. Some of our malecraft Brethren in France and Switzerland are well familiar with them, too.
Go and explore the hidden secrets of nature & science!:-)

There is an energy that radiates from the Earth's core outwards and from outwards to the earth's core. Your spine is a conductor. You will find the benefits enhanced if you remove your shoes and allow your HEELS to contact the earth. Masons take note.
Now you know why it is easier to sleep lying down, you cut the flow of force down. It is also why healthcare professionals find that the earlier they can get their patients upright, the more quickly they recover strength.
Our energy fields can be enhanced by sitting with your spine against a tree trunk and pine trees are said to be particularly effective.

Esoteric considerations aside, one would naturally feel reinvigorated by nature. If for no other reason than that is our natural environment. Mankind developed in such surroundings, so as a result of removing ourselves from artificial influences stress levels fall, inducing a more relaxed outlook. Nature is soothing.
As to energy fields, when one removes ones-self from artificial interference from manmade electromagnetic fields, the body reinvigorates from exposure to more natural EM patterns.

In open, natural environments there is typically a prevalence of negative ions, which are thought to have a positive impact on our mood.

As to energy fields, when one removes ones-self from artificial interference from manmade electromagnetic fields, the body reinvigorates from exposure to more natural EM patterns. Very difficult to achieve these days, unless you are: - underground
- underwater
- in a Faraday cage
In the case of the first two, you would still be exposed to very low frequency man-made fields, albeit at very low levels. Tony

BTW! Are there any Pagan Masons? I know an 84 year old brother in my lodge who was a druid at the same time that he was a mason.

Good to see. I have been a bit worried about this being a Polytheist myself. I am of Asatru. I wondered a bit if the "a supreme being" was necessarily "A supreme being (sing)". Then again it is LDH i´m considering (Stockholm Lodge) and i get the feeling they dont meddle in Religous affairs at all anyway. The Swedish Rite demands that you are a Lutheran, witch clearly i´m not. Blessed Be!

Heilsa! ;D I'm It is what it is to you -- God, Goddess, All-Father, something altogether more intangible ... We don't. We work to the glory of TGAOTU and / or the perfectionof humanity, and it is left up to each national Federation/Jurisdiction to decide whether that'll be an 'and' or an 'or' for them. "Perfection", by the way, appears to be a mistranslation of the French source text "progresse" BB, Cora

I find that when I meditate outdoors I get MUCH better results, the birds chirping aid in my breathing and then the sound of them goes away and returns when I loose rhythm, totally beautiful!
