Thought I would give you my masonic background I joined HFAF in 1976 as a consequence of having both parents and my husband on the square. I suppose you could say I took to it like a duck to water. I reached the C of KS for the first time in 1983 and have been there three times in total. I have been through the Chairs in Mark, Chapter & Rose Croix. I am currently Secretary of my Craft Lodge and Preceptor of my Chapter. Those of you who have visted the HFAF website will have seen my name on the byline. For my sins I am also now Grand Librarian. I cannot imagine my life without Freemasonry and it has helped me through many difficult times as well as giving me much personal enlightenment. Look forward to reading more of your posts when I get the time

I'll second that, welcome to the forum Chris. I look forward to your posts. It will help to give a better balance with HFAF represented.
And as you are Grand Librarian can we expect to be told to keep the noise down.

Chris
A hearty welcome from me as well, I hope you enjoy the friendliness of this Forum.
Could I ask a quick question? (of course I can I am in control of the keyboard after all!)
In HFAF KT do you have similar regalia to Male only KT (if you know) or is it very different?

Delighted Chris! A warm welcome! There are two Women's Lodges using Temples where I meet, Saxon Gate at Wokingham and Abbey at Caversham.
BTW do you use different Workings such as Taylors, Logic, West End, Emulation , or just have one?

Welcome PASTMASTERCHRIS,
It's good to see more women on this forum. I'm not aufait with HFAF could you please spell it out for me. From the postings you are a female only lodge?
I'm from the Eastern Order of International Co-Freemasonry which split from Le Droit Humain several years back. Is yours the english equivalent? I know some of them had trouble with Nordur and the French.

We only use one craft ritual which is Universal. I believe members of OWF use it as well.

I know some of them had trouble with Nordur and the French. Hubert We derive from LDH, in 1909 a UK order broke away to form an independent Grand Lodge, which is now the Order of Women Freemasons. HFAF (The Honourable Fraternity of Ancient Freemasons) broke away from this in 1913. A full history of HFAF can be found on our website - www.hfaf.org. Yes we are women only, but we were mixed in the beginning. S & F Chris

Welcome, Chris. My better half is thinking about joining a women only order (Freja, affiliated with Women's Grand Lodge Of Belgium), while I am going to a men only. It seems like the majority of FM-interested couples go for co-masonic lodges. So I would be very interested in hearing more about how things are working out for you. Hope you enjoy it here. Thomas I think the majority of members of HFAF whose partners are also masons, would say that they are happier developing their freemasonry separately but then, maybe that it is because we are always happiest with what we know best I have had lots of contact with men masons through organisations like the London Lunchtimers www.lunchtimers.org and other masonic forums, most notably the Compuserve Masonry Forum, which I believe is now defunct. Whilst I would be quite happy to visit (if it were ever to be allowed) my male masonic friends I dont feel the need for us to belong to a mixed Lodge. S & F Chris
