Hi Whistler, You beat me to doing my proper introduction! I'm here upon Whistler's invitation - for which my thanks. I'm 34, happily married, Legal Eagle during the day and on a long-running search for light and understanding during every waking minute (and quite possibly while I'm not awake, too - the mind wanders ...) It was The Hiram Key and subsequently Turning The Hiram Key that sparked off my interest in Freemasonry, and I'm hopeful of meeting with two potential Co-Masonic lodges soon, after having spoken with some officers of Le Droit Humain. Any questions - shout! Cora

Cora,Welcome to the forum. have you thought about male only freemasonry ? and if so what is your sway to co masonry based on ? Hi Staffs, Have thought about it, but considering me being of the female persuasion there really was only female only or Co-Masonry to consider! I have a UGLE lodge 3 minutes down the road from here and have been casting it longing glances for a good 18 months now, but I knew I didn't stand a chance of joining that. It wasn't until I read the Hiram Key that I just took the leap, joined a forum and asked there how to find out about Co-Masonry, and that's where I got directed towards LDH. Female-Only Masonry has never been an option for me, because although my husband may not be interested in joining right now, I wouldn't want to exclude him outright by joining a Female-Only order. And I have to admit that the prospect of a female-only environments doesn't appeal to me - I believe in balance and an exclusive environment just doesn't pull that off for me. Cora

OOOOOps.sorry Cora i should not have assumed you were of the male species. *LOL* No worries, Staffs - sure put a smile to my face! Thank goodness for that - I must have given the Mod on another forum a giggling fit when I asked him for permission to post outside the "feminine" forum! (I dunno - as far as I could see I was the only woman posting there - was fully expecting to be told to tend to the kitchen;) ) Not too far from me then - I'm in Portsmouth, Hants. Cora

Corab, at another place you expressed a little of you husbands concerns about Freemasonry,, I suggest you introduce him to this site comasonic.net/, let him read it through - he will then understand the sort of organisation you are interested in, who knows he may wish to join you on your journey, if not he will at least understand what you are up to... If he does decide to join you, I can tell you from my own experience, having ones partner working Freemasonry with you is really neat

If he does decide to join you, I can tell you from my own experience, having ones partner working Freemasonry with you is really neat Thanks for that - that's a really useful site! I must say that I'm seeing him more interested in this than he ever was in Wicca, and there are certain core concepts that are bound to 'click' with him, so who's to know? It'd be wonderful if he decided to join:) I may need to start a new thread on this (mods, feel free to move / split if need be) - not sure ... on that page there was a section about Magic - can you elaborate on that at all? Is Freemasonry considered to be Ceremonial Magic? *blinks* I'm currently in the midst of an email exchange with a member from another site who's been asking about Wicca, and regarding the magical side I told him the following:- Is the magic alluded on that website a similar type of magic? Cheers, Cora

Benvenuta! Can I read anyhing about Wicca? I would suggest Vivianne Crowley's "Wicca", which has probably been translated into Italian, and perhaps Gerald Gardner's "Witchcraft Today". There's a whole world of crap out there, mostly published by Llewellyn - generally the older the book is, the more genuine and authoritative it is. Enjoy, Cora
