Brighton is a lovely Centre and the Main Temple is one of the finest I have seen.
The food used to be very good indeed, Gourmet Level, in the days when Roger Lythgoe was the Caterer. He was in many of the Higher Degrees and moved to Jersey where he is Masonically involved, when he retired.
Nowadays the food is not as good but a lot depends on the Secretary or whoever orders the food. If they have little imagination and opt for a cheap and pedestrian menu then that is what you will get, Chicken and Chips and Apple Pie and Custard are just that, canteen food. If on the other hand they and the Lodge are willing to spend a bit more and have a higher Dining Fee then a better meal can be obtained there.

It is with regret that Brighton is at present outside my cable tow, I do of course wish those attending a very pleasant evening, and look forward to reading about it.

Michael,i understand your situation fully.
Bod ,Our lodge normally Tyles at 5.00PM
If you are coming and need accomodation Steve quite often stays overnight in Brighton and can probably offer you the best advice.
It would be great to see as many of you as possible.
I am nearing the time to buying my MM apron and will go for a good quality one with a pocket .Steve posted the central regalia link and i have visited that site and may well buy it from there along with a soft leather carry case.

Yes, a good place to buy, I get most of my Regalia from them, either their shop in GQS opposite FMH, (they are so much more friendly than Toye Kenning), or from an agent of theirs who is in most of the Orders I belong to. I assume the case is full size as those little half cases are not a good idea as they put a crease in the Apron which looks bad.
As to Hotels either the Dudley in Hove or the Princes Marine near the King Alfred on the seafront.

Thanks for that Steve - I got my Mark apron from Central, it doesn't have a pocket in the back but in all other respects its good. I also purchased a hard briefcase from them - good service and quick delivery.
Our Brother Bill McG has also started selling regalia recently - his prices are quite good. he has links off of his websites

I am getting all excited as the time gets closer.
LOI last night the ceremony was being practiced and from what i was told the WM was superb so i have now doubt that those who are coming will witness a superb ceremony.
i also purchased my MM apron last night .My wife just chuckled when she saw it.

This probably sounds quite sad.....
I still keep my MM apron in the placcy bag that it came from the suppliers in - I've managed to loose one of the little pockets that stops the tassles rubbing on the leather, but still got the other one....must look like a real noobie when I turn up and take it out of the case still in its bag....
