I know I'm competing with Munkholt's Passing in Copenhagen on the same day but if anyone would like to attend a 3rd in Watford on Wednesday 11th October, it's my Raising.
PM me for details if interested. All welcome.

I think I'll be seeing enough of people in Hamburg later this month (but stay tuned for news on my Rasing in 2007 ). No worries.

I got home an hour and a half ago after my 3rd and Wow, that was different. I listened to the hints but nothing prepares you for that. Who wants to be a Knife & Fork Mason! I'm still buzzing. I'm really looking forward to seeing a 3rd from the side now (already got two booked). So much more to the ceremony. How will I manage to remember all that? I know I will once it's all settled down. And so much more to learn and add to the experience of Freemasonry. I'm going to have to go back and re-read some of the books I've got. I know I'll get a different perspective from them now. I've saved the bits that were specifically about the 3rd as I didn't want to spoil anything. I'm glad I did. Time to reflect and absorb and learn. I'm still looking forward to my Freemasonry.

Now you should take the opportiunity to see a Scottish Third! That is far more dramatic than the English Working, especially in comparison to the Emulation Working.

Congratulations!!
I've been told one should keep a notebook by the bed after an initation, passing and raising. So it sounds like some of the compiling you'll be doing, to put this experience into perspective, will come out while you're asleep.
Enjoy it!!

That's an interesting comment Steve. I know nothing of the Scottish Rite or anyone who attends. I suppose there must Scottish Lodges in and around London. Do you know where to start looking? I've managed to get myself pretty booked up before Christmas but it would be nice to see a comparison in the new year.

I've managed to get myself pretty booked up before Christmas but it would be nice to see a comparison in the new year. What Steve is referring to is a 3rd in a Lodge under GLoS rather than UGLE. Sadly, there are none around London (or in England at all). If you are ever up in Scotland, give me a shout. In my view (as a Glasgow mason), the best place to view a Scottish 3rd would be either Ayrshire or darkest Lanarkshire. Terrified me, and I was only sitting on the sidelines.

Thanks for that Harmony. I have a friend in Glasgow and I really need to arrange to see him. Sounds like a good excuse to do that now. If I do, I'll be in touch.
And Thanks for the good wishes everyone.

Peter!
I can't remember the last time I visited this forum, but I will never forget your Raising last Wednesday. What a Ceremony it was!
Congratulations and see you at Biscot on the 28th!

Lee,
I'll try to come back more often, I promise. Keeping up to date with more than one forum has been more challenging than I'd anticipated, but I'll do my best.
During my absence, I was exalted into the Royal Arch and I will be joining Rose-Croix on 1st December. And of course, I have visited a few Lodges, including Siontific's, who has become a regular visitor at my mother Lodge.
If there's a convenient forum meet-up in the near future, I'll try and join in if I can so I can meet some of you at last.
S&F,
Gilles
