Wish me luck brethren as I take the next step in my Masonic path
Next Wednesday (13 December) I am joining Rose Croix in Cardiff (St Teilo's Chapter No 789) - subject, of course, to ballot

Went to Rose last night - we had an elevation. Rose is just sooo uplifting in every respect. I will be thinking of you on 13th.

Thanks - I have been told that it is indeed a very beautiful ceremony, I have also been told that it is a very personal and moving ceremony. I have deliberately avoided trying to find out anything about the detail of the ceremony but am looking forward to it immensely

Interesting the different approach between us Bro Wayne. When I was about 16 I first read about the Rose Croix (of Heredom) 18th Degree Ceremony and it was one of the matters which attracted me to Freemasonry. Still I won't say anything but I am very sure you will not be disappointed by being Perfected into Rose Croix.

I have deliberately avoided trying to find out anything about the detail of the ceremony Yes I've done the same - I recently read 'darkness visible' and towards the back of the book the author has dedicated a chapter or two to Rose Croix - Needless to say I avoided it.

Interesting, I first read Darkness Visible from cover to cover when I was in my teens and have also read the companion volume "Christian by Degrees" by Walton Hannah . Rather than put me off of Freemasonry it whetted my appetite! The again I have never subscribed to the idea of it "spoiling it for the Candidate" whether that be myself or someone else, although I must add that if someone asked me NOT to tell them I would abide by their wishes and would also make it clear that I would not disclose the S:. T:. and W:s to anyone not entitled to receive them.
As it happens I am off to a Rose Croix Meeting this evening.

Well, after the waiting I was perfected in St Teilo Chapter No 789 last night
What a wonderful ceremony!
I was told beforehand that it was a beautiful piece of ritual, that it was a very personal ceremony and that it was particularly moving and I was not disappointed on any of these counts
It was also nice to see the District Inspector General in attendance as well as I understand he is a regular visitor to my new Chapter. I was also well supported by a number of friends from my own and other lodges who all came into Cardiff to witness the ceremony
I can't pretend to have taken in all that happened and whilst I could make some associations in my own mind as to what was going on I am certainly going to have to witness a few more to test my assumptions and try to understand what actually happened - invites already arranged!
I also have the ritual book and other documents with me to read over lunch if I get the time
