Well, I think, based on last season, Cincy will have a better shot than the White Sox. That and I'm a Cubs fan when I'm in Chicago

It's good fun, but nothing compared to what it's trying to imitate - cricket!

Cricket? A game the English invented which nobody understands and at which they let everyone else beat them! (usually)

Actually Baseball is most probably derived from Rounders.
Wiki clips:
Baseball The modern version of the game developed in North America, beginning in the eighteenth century. The consensus of historians is that it evolved from earlier bat-and-ball games, such as rounders, brought to the continent by British and Irish immigrants. By the late nineteenth century, baseball was widely recognized as the national sport of the United States. The game is sometimes referred to as hardball in contrast to the very similar game of softball.
Rounders Rounders (Irish: cluiche corr) is a sport which originated in Ireland. The game is regulated by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) in Ireland and the National Rounders Association (NRA) in Great Britain. Both have different, although broadly similar, game-play and culture. Competitions are held between teams from both traditions with games alternating between codes, often with one version being played in the morning and the other being played in the afternoon.
Game-play centers around innings where teams alternate at turns being batters and fielders. A maximum of nine players are allowed to play in fielding positions at one time. Points ("rounders") are scored by the batting team by completing a circuit around the field through four bases/posts without being put 'out' - for example, by a ball they batted being 'caught-out' or touching a tagged base/post.
The earliest nationally formalised rules of play were devised by the GAA in Ireland in 1884.
Cricket
A basic form of cricket can be traced back to the 13th century, but it may have existed even earlier than that. The game seems to have originated among children of the farming and metalworking communities in the Weald between Kent and Sussex. Written evidence exists of a game known as creag being played by Prince Edward, the son of Edward I (Longshanks), at Newenden, Kent in 1300.
So it is most likely that Leo's ancestors are responsible for Baseball.

So it is most likely that Leo's ancestors are responsible for Baseball. Thanks Bill. They have been blamed for many things, almost all of them true, so this is probably true, as well.

Actually it's a variation of Tip-the-Cat and Rounders combined.
Baseball is about as close to cricket as hockey is to basketball, or football (USA) is to football (UK)
Anyone ever play Kubb? I'm looking for plans for the wood piece sizes for adult men and women to play.
Go Pirates.

news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7458557.stmThe stretch of unruly motorway between San Pedro de Macoris and Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, is lined by foreign factories. But look closer, a few kilometres east of the international airport, and you will see something different - Baseball City. This has become a serious and mature industry in the Dominican Republic. It's the Silicon Valley of baseball This giant complex of ready-built baseball academies, playing fields and batting cages is like a vast industrial park dedicated to the production of Dominican professional baseball players for the US labour market.
