Okay, finally got my hands on The Order on DVD. Not worth going out of your way to find. As it says in Aaron's post, it's just a 30 minute sequence out of a whole film: Cremaster 3, which is loaded with Masonic imagery (see www.cremaster.net/crem3.htm - there's also a great trailer on the same site that has Masons in aprons, a murdered architect, pillars and everything). The Order fits in towards the end of Cremaster 3 and shows Barney, a tartan-clad "entered apprentice" with a document stuffed in his bloody mouth, climbing the five "degrees" of the Guggenheim museum. Masonic symbolism abounds - the choirgirls have little bunny-like aprons, the leg-less woman has a transparent S&C to cover her behind, the working tools are hidden under a cross etc. But talk about veiled! This is video-/concept-art of the highest order. Still, some of the visuals are nice, and the music works well. I will keep waiting for the complete Cremaster 3 (maybe even the whole cycle). I found my copy for 4 Euro, so with the commentary and seperate soundtrack that's pretty good value for money. My five-smiley review: PS: Wasn't that Bambi-DVD just brilliant, though?
