Tough one ... but I think you're talking about Cremaster III, wherin one segment is called The Order. It is indeed "trippy". Palm has a trailer. And here's an interview: ART:21: Could you explain the significance of masons and Freemasonry in the story? BARNEY: The story has primarily to do with the construction of the Chrysler tower. And, as the Architect is described, it starts overlapping with the mythology of the Freemasons. Hiram Abiff, the architect of Solomon's Temple, is the martyr in Freemasonry, in that he was killed by corrupt stonemasons who worked beneath him. They believed he knew the name of God and they wanted to be told the name of God. Hiram wouldn't tell them so he was killed by a plumb and a level to the temple and a maul to the forehead. So "CREMASTER 3" starts to fold into some of the mythologies of Freemasonry that way. Richard Serra's character, the Architect, becomes like Hiram at a certain point. And the Chrysler tower is actually never completed in the same way that the Temple of Solomon is never completed.Cremaster III site - click Characters for som gorgeous imagery.

Thank you Thomas for clarifying things. It doesn't really sound like it's a big budget blockbuster, but should be interesting enough all the same.

Action superstar Jean-Claude Van Damme (Nowhere To Run, Universal Soldier) is back in The Order, a fast-paced, high-octane thriller set in the Middle East. From the director of Double Impact and featuring screen legend Charlton Heston (Planet Of The Apes, Any Given Sunday), Ben Cross (First Knight, Chariots Of Fire), and sexy newcomer Sofia Milos, The Order is an exciting adventure packed with extreme fight choreography, exotic locations, and non-stop action. Journey to a turbulent world under siege as reformed artifact smuggler Rudy (Van Damme) travels to Jerusalem to rescue his museum-curator father, who's been kidnapped by ruthless fanatics, and recover a sacred scroll believed to hold dangerous secrets of an underground sect. Framed for murder by a scheming police chief (Cross), Rudy enlists the aid of a mysterious beauty (Milos) to clear his name and wages a one-man battle to recapture the prized manuscript before the ultimate Holy War breaks out and all hell breaks loose!
hey sounds like national treasure all over again

No doubt the supermarket chain Asda will be thoroughly delighted that they have been mentioned at least twice on the forum I used to love shopping in Asda (three times now it's a terrible shame they have not opened up one of their stores here in the South of Ireland. Mind you there might be one in Dublin Going back to the movie. It's a shame there isn't any more information to go on.

more info: Matthew Barney's legendary Cremaster Cycle was hailed by the New York Times as "An inspired benchmark of ambition, scope and forthright provocation for art in the new century."
Nine years in the making, the five films that comprise the Cremaster Cycle came to a brilliant and grand finale with a spectacular sequence at the close of Cremaster 3, called The Order. In The Order, Matthew Barney is a tartan-clad apprentice seeking Masonic redemption on a death-defying race to the top of the Guggenheim Museum.
Before taking on legendary sculptor Richard Serra, who tosses molten Vaseline down the Guggenheim's ramps, Barney must bypass a troupe of tap-dancing girlscouts, a pair of dueling hardcore bands, a ravishing model who transforms herself into a cheetah, and a cabor toss with a flayed ram, in a dizzying mirror to the artist's fantastical Cremaster Cycle.
This spectacular sequence is now available on DVD for the first time via The Order: From Matthew Barney's Cremaster 3
