Glad you have taken my advice Lee, you will find this a most informative book. Now it is written, ( very conveniently), in two parts. The first contains Walton Hannah's opinions as to why, in his view, a Christian could not be a Freemason. You can read that if you want to, I'd rather read The Beano!
The Second part has the Rituals accurately printed, albeit with some anti Masonic comments by Hannah in footnotes which one can ignore. The beauty is that they are spelt out in full, no "........ " or confusing initials so ironically "Darkness Visible" has become a first class training aid for Freemasons and Walton Hannah must be spinning in his grave that a book he wrote against The Craft has actually been a great assistance to it and its members.
The only point to note is that in 1952 when he wrote "Darkness Visible" the Traditional Penalties of the Obligations were mentioned but these were altered in the 1980s, so cross reference to your Ritual Book if using "D.V." as an aid to study.
Anyway, read, mark and inwardly digest. There is a companion volume by Hannah, "Christian by Degrees", about some the Higher Orders. It is out of print but copies can be obtained, ( I have one), via Second Hand book dealers of which there are many in Brighton. I recommend the one just down Trafalgar Street from Brighton Station. Alternatively there is a dealer on the web, Ranald Mac Donald who operates as "Mr Mac", try searching for him via Google. Mine cost about £17 a few years ago.

Boks are fantastic, in season. I'm not too sure about the 2nd hand bit, though. (It's spring here, so I'm thinking springbok will be abundant.)

This book just arrived in the post and i am going to enjoy it .
£15.00 from Pend books via ABE books the link i previously submitted.
This is a 1963 tenth revised print and it is in VG condition and the pages smell lovely of old books.
I love that smell.
This book is going to be a great learning aid to me.

I got Darkness Visible out of the library sometime in the 1980s. The first section was drearily Christian, if you know what I mean: written by someone who could quote you Scripture till both of you were blue in the face, but didn't seem to understand any of it.
The second part, I now know, was pretty accurate. At the time, I couldn't believe it: what the hell was he complaining about? There was nothing there for a Christian to complain about, or anybody else come to that. I was sure there must have been something else too terrible to print that he was holding back for his big shockeroonie sequel.
Sadly not. I'll just have to join the Satanic Church of Bikini Enthusiasts instead.
