This book is about the size of half a breeze block and weighs the same!! Trust me if you threw it at anyone you'd kill them ;D
Written by Alexander Roob and published by Taschen, ISBN 3-8228-8653-X. It contains 4 chapters, 1/Macrocosm, 2/Opus Magnum, 3/Microcosm, 4/Rotation. Also an Introduction and an Index.
Approx 709 pages of the most fantastic prints, drawings, engravings regarding Alchemy, Freemasonry, Divine Geometry, and lots more beside. For those interested in this kind of stuff it is a cracking book if only for the pictures. Each picture has an explanation regarding it so it's not one of these dry overpowering books. The description of the book on the back cover is as follows, "A fantastical journey through the pictorial world of alchemy, and mysicism, the cabbala and magic, freemasons and rosicrucians. The unique selection of illustrations with commentaries and source texts guides us on a facinating journey through the re-representations of the secret art"
I actualy bought this book several years ago from "Ottakars" and put it buy until I had time to read it. Found yesterday amongst other forgotten books/papers, etc. Can't remember how much it cost sorry.

I do love Benedikt Taschen books. They are above and beyond the mere art book. Every cultural phenomenon is deemed worthy for the gorgeous treatment this publishing house lavish on their titles. It is the cutting edge in colophons.
