I have just been given a book to read by my friend who has had it passed down by his Father, the full title being History of The Lodge Of Edinburgh (Marys Chapel)No1 By David Murray Lyon, who was the Secretary to the Grand Lodge of Scotland. This book was first published in 1900 but it appears it may have been published prior to the date in this book(1870) and i have just started to read it, i will give more of an insight as i start to read through it.

Sounds interesting Mike - I would be interested to hear your thoughts in the fullness of time.
I recently bought a copy of the Quadcentenery Minute book, which has extracts from all the minute books of the lodge, and makes fascinating reading. The period from c 1800 - 1830 seems the most turbulent, and I would be interested to know if this is skated over in the 1900 edition.
