First off let me start by saying, I have been contemplating trying to join the Masons for a long time now, but have been putting it off, not because I am unsure, but because I am interested in meeting with someone and talking about the craft and getting to know as much as I can before I take the step forward. If anyone is in the Omaha, Nebraska area would be interested in meeting with me and talking sometime that would be great, please feel free to shoot me a message. Thank you all for the information that I have read on this site, as I have been a lurker for a long time, but just registered here tonight. Hope to talk to someone soon. Thanks in advance, and have a great night.

Have you decided on which branch of Masonry you'd like to join? For you, there's Male-Only (just the guys) and Co-Masonry (accepts men and women). Either way, I think contact info could be found for you in Omaha. Congrats on thinking about it and welcome to Masonic Forum of Light

Thank you for your reply.
I haven't really decided which way to go as of yet. I would love to meet up with someone and explore what is out there. I have plenty of questions, but I am better about asking them in person and getting a response face to face.
I am looking to meet people and build myself into a better person and a better citizen and I believe the mason's would be a great place for me to accomplish this.
Thank you for welcoming me to the Forum, I look forward to meeting more people and getting more information.

I would recommend calling the lodge that is closest to your house. I can assure you that nothing will get a Mason talking like asking him about Masonry. Don't be afraid to ask any questions you might have.. even the craziest conspiracy theories or internet stories you may have heard. Any doubts you might have, etc.
It sounds like you've got the right motivations for becoming a Mason. If you were in my area, I'd be happy to meet with you, as I'm sure you will find in your area as well. Keep us posted!

I'm near Omaha and while not a full fledged Master Mason yet ( I will be on the 22 of July), I'd be happy to answer any questions that I can answer and find someone to answer those that I can't. I'll send you a PM with my number.

Talk to as many Masons as possible, it's one of the best thing to do, but always keep in mind they will only be passing on their personal interpretations of the Craft so carrying out your own research could benefit you even more. Good luck to you.
