Another opportunity for Stewart to get out of the closet! For me: Visiting, a lot! First up is The Ancient Fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons of Denmark, which will be an opportunity to see this Emulation-thing that you're all talking about. Later, I'll visit The Old Charges, a lodge working Schröder's Rite. Plus several lodges under The National GL of Denmark, at least in two of which I have made connection through my blog. I also have an invitation for Newark (thanks Chas!) and one for a lodge in Hamburg ( interesting site in German). I need a masonic passport for those, but luckily my Proposer is willing to tag along and vouch for me. My wife will likely join a women-only lodge in January, and I'm still undecided on how to handle the fact that apparently it's quite usual for members of the Order to (quietly) go to their wife's Initiation. In lodge: No official duties befall me, until I am raised as Master (at the earliest), but the position of (our version of) Inner Guard is often given to a "young" member to try out a few times. Maybe I can make myself useful for the lodge's own magazine or something, we'll see. At home: Study (the Order's impressive library as well as fora and online articles will be a big help), and try to make freemasonry a practical way of life. And just maybe, sometime in the autumn, I'll be passed into Fellowcraft. As an added bonus, me and my wife will have our very own potential Lewis early in the summer. ;D You?

I shall be installed Master of Insubria, the regional lodge of Rito Simbolico Italiano. I hope to give a positive spin on masonic education. Of course, I will plague you all too... P. S.: Tom, I hope you found anything interesting here in the forum. I hope you have been helped in your spiritual growth.

Well, depending on the ballot on 28 January I shall be looking forward to being made a Mason something in Spring this year - and to beginning to make an understanding of what it really is all about:-)

I shall continue to be Chaplain to Victoria's main research Lodge (218), and contribute therein to various discussions and developments.
Also in 2006 will be the biannual Conference for the Australia and New Zealand Masonic Research Council (basically bringing together the various masonic research Lodges around both countries).
SRIA will also continue to hold my personal interest and participation.
...and perhaps will also add to my current more at-distance involvement with the Primitive Memphis Misraim Rite.

I was Initiated and Passed in 2005 and now wait until October 2006 to be Raised. At first I thought this was such a long time, especially as I saw others in different Lodges going through much more quickly. Now, having read and listened much more, I am rather pleased that I have a year gap from being Passed to being Raised. I am seeing and realising there is so much more to Freemasonry than I imagined, I really enjoyed the visits I made in 2005 and am looking forward to making more in 2006. It is a great opportunity to see so much in Ritual and opinion.
So, I look forward to my Raising in October and I also look forward to much more of this Forum. It is an excellent starting place, if nothing else, for topics to research further. And I have met some nice Brethren through this gateway.
So, a Happy and Interesting 2006 to you all.

I was Invested as Junior Deacon at our last meeting of 2005 a few weeks ago and at our first meeting back on Feb 3rd it will be my responsibility as JD to take round the Candidate for Initiation who is the Son of my Proposer for Freemasonry.
other than that i hope to do a little visit and NOT join any more orders.
I am going to embark on a ritual learning fest and work really hard at learning ritual this year.
I also hope to have a bit more time to develop the MFOL website a little more.

I was Initiated in 2004, Passed in 2005 and in the next year 2006, if my Brethren find this humble Fellow of the Craft worth to be Raised, I should receive the sublime degree of Master Mason.

I seem to have a rather busy start to the year. I am to be exalted in to Royal Arch, Chapter of Rectitude on the 12th January and made Senior Deacon of my Craft Lodge on the on the 14th Jan. I am also planning on becoming a member of OSM - Supera Moras, (internet Conclave) No 49 at the end of February. But the highlight will be when one of my closest friends is to be initiated into my Craft Lodge in March, for which I will take a pace back and act as JD - plus do the charge.
And by April I will be looking for some of Richards 'Inner calm'

Being just installed as Senior Warden of my Mother Lodge, and the next step is the Chair of KS, my year will be spent with my head in the Ritual book. As I'm also the official prompter in the Lodge, and it's all done from memory , (i.e. no Ritual book in front of you!), I should already know it!
Having said, I'm also moving up the ladder in the 18th degree, so I have pieces to learn there as well.
I'm Secretary of the Lodge of Research, (Discovery 1789), here in Dundee and that keeps me busy. I'm also delivering the 1st lecture of 2006 in January.
I vacated the Chair in the HRA this year, after 3 years, and I look forward to 'relaxing' with the Companions and assisting when required.
As well as all that, I attend the meetings of the other orders of which I'm a member and assist from time time with various duties and charges.
However the highlights of the year will certainly be getting married to my partner, (if and when we organise it), and the birth of my second grandchild!

My particular area of focus for 2005 was to make 'a daily advance in Freemasonry' - which was why (for better or worse) you guys heard so much from me. In 2006 I will continue with the 'daily advance' theme and several of us have committed to instigating a Masonic meditation program for aid to others - and focusing on particular local trouble spots. For you Brighton fellows - the idea sprang from your town - where Colin Bloy started The Fountain Group. There was a very large group here in Adelaide and I was a member. www.fountain-international.org/whatis.htmMaat

Hopefully to be raised to MM this March, or if not then, September. Continue the daily advancement, and maybe to contribute a little more here! (OK, I am a self confessed lurker!!) Hopefully, I may have the privilege of proposing a good friend of mine into our lodge. Time and his heart will tell....

Do we start to call Lee, Dafydd now?? JD in my craft lodge until September, hopefully receiving the 2nd degree in OSM, learning the IG role in RAM, swotting up n the ritual in Mark as I'm on the stewards bench (or rather I am the steward.... ) I hope to make it to Wales to a meeting of Wayne Cowley's lodge while he is master, down to Brighton for a Mark meeting with Lee, over to Denmark to visit Thomas and his lodge. No doubt some more local visiting in Mark and Craft, and I think thats enough for this year, unless I decide to take the plunge and book some time in Scotland to take the Royal Arch.......but that might be best left until another time. Especially as once I've taken that step a whole heap more opens up for exploration.

In 2006 I'll be installed as Thrice Illustrious Master in the Cryptic Council. I should also recieve my 30th degree in the AASR, and join the SRIS. I also hope to visit a few other brethren's lodges from this forum. Perhaps Brighton to see if that pink lyrca actualy suits Lee

Well for me it is going to be a year of concentrating on my role as Master of my lodge and consolidating in my other degrees/Orders. No new degrees for this year (but a couple lined up for 2007) I hope to make it to Wales to a meeting of Wayne Cowley's lodge while he is master, There's a thread running at LRUK suggesting a forum meet-up at my lodge on 26 January when I am initiating the son of my proposer. He's 24 and has grown up around the Craft. I was out with him on Saturday and you can feel his anticipation - you just know he is going to be a good member of the lodge Wayne

In June 2006 my three-years-duty as V.M. will end. I am not sure if our neighbour lodge will elect me as V.M. then. They asked me if I would take the seat. Honestly this would be a challenge, because it is a very small lodge. But I think, if I feel tired after June 2006, I will not take it then.

We had our Installation earlier in December, and I was invested as Senior Deacon. Accordingly I helped to confer a Fellowcraft Degree on Monday just there. I had to Receive the Candidate - and let me tell you, I was as nervous as a coachload of virgins.
It wasn't that I just forgot sentences, it was more like they broke up into little batwinged devil-shaped bits and dangled in the air giving me the V-sign.
To be sure, I stunk: stunk like a tanner's Y-fronts in a heatwave. But I DID IT! So the forthcoming year, speaking Masonically, holds for me the promise of getting gradually less stinky and more confident, increasingly so, as the year proceeds.
