Hi Patrick, I know - but I couldn't find it on the site; when I looked it only showed the two articles I quoted above. Thanks for the URL!

You're very welcome! Maybe Arch.....provided the translation himself?

And then there's the festive board, add some brothers, a little ashamed. The dirty stories and crude behavior would be more difficult in the presence of women. Am I to suppose from this that most have not even progressed beyond EA in reality? Heaven help the Order. Maat

Maat Maat, I'm sure you would be appalled at the behavior of our Brethren in days of yore, when Lodges met in rooms above taverns. Masons or not boys will be boys.

Strange as it may sound I am on one of my caimpagns. to stop dirty Jokes and searing at the Festive Board.
We don't get much but it is creeping into the speeches. Some seem to think it is acceptable, of course it is not.
UGLE Lodges tyle the Festive board , so it is clearly part of the Masonic evening, otherwise why tyle the room. It would not be acceptable inside a Lodge so it is not acceptable at the Festive board.
I have given out a few warnings and made it clear that if it happens again, I will stop the proceedings and report the entire Lodge to Province, it is just not to be allowed to continue, full stop.
Now I can out swear a Tilbury Docker, but not in Lodge, not in Church.
The departed Brethren of my Lodge would be turning in their Grave. And I am not going to allow that to happen.

Too right, Bill.
"What is freemasonry?" "A peculiar system of morality, veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols."

Masons or not boys will be boys. There is no room in Freemasonry for boys!!! End of story. Boys go to Scouts or some such organisation. Adult boys go to the Playboy club or a topless bar (talk about not hiding the sisters). I am with Bill all the way on this one. Clearly the organisation/s have become so needy for membership over the years that they will take anybody, which ultimately leads to a situation where the blind are leading the blind. I know this is not the esoteric section - but - the creative energy which lies coiled at the base of the spine and unwinds itself in a winding manner to the heart chamber and then onwards to the dormer window at the crown of our heads is the same energy as that which fuels the sex drive. When we enter the door of the lodge the first thing we learn is that we must seek balance in all things. It is quite apparent to most adults what happens when this energy is lop sided, just listen to the news or watch television. To put it in a most simple, and extreme, way - you have a simple choice ... sex maniac/deviant/crimes of passion etc or a wise and masterly person. Your choice. Masonry is for men not boys. Maat

Take it to the bar and let the jokes fly if one must. Anyone who doesn't like it there should just have another drink.
