I wasn't expecting much of this video, but I've started watching it and it seems a lot better than I expected. But don't take my word for it, see for yourself. The video is offered in two parts plus a 'bonus' third part. Each can be downloaded in mp4 format from its viewing page: Part 1: The Magicians tinyurl.com/c4obnvPart 2: The Scientists tinyurl.com/cdkglnPart 2: Bonus - What is Occult? tinyurl.com/d2pprdI would be very interested in other people's comments on this video.

Thanks for posting these! Due to their length I downloaded them and made a dvd of them to watch in a more comfortable position than the office chair in front of my computer could allow for.
It was a fairly light weight yet serious introduction to the world of the occult. Hardline Christians and fundamentalists should note that in nearly 2.5 - 3 hours of documentary footage on the occult, satan, lucifer, nor the devil got any mention. God, however seemed well represented. For once it seems like someone has published something on the occult for a mainstream audience with out sensationalising it, or making it out to be overly sinister.
I watched it over dinner with my other half, expecting her to scoff and laugh the whole way through. She's a bit of a skeptic you see. Instead she remarked that learning the history of science in school would have actually been interesting if we were given the whole story. It served as an excellent explaination of my "other" interests without leaving me looking like some kind of gullible weirdo. For that it gets 10 out of 10!!!
Truth be told I am a gullible weirdo, but my interests in the occult have little to do with it.
Synchronicity, what were your thoughts on it?

Andy, I quite agree with your assessment. Admittedly it is a bit lightweight, but for a basic introduction aimed at the man in the street, it turned out to be more informative than I expected. Oddly enough, it seems to provide more information toward the beginning than the end, which perhaps makes it seem more lightweight than it really is. Despite that it manages to provide a healthy starting point from which an interested beginner can progress by following up on any of the many leads provided. And as you rightly say, no sensationalising and no conspiracy paranoia for once, which of course makes a refreshing change.
