Hello,
I'm a french speaking mason, living in Brussels. My lodge uses the "Rite écossais rectifé" (Scottish rectified rite).
I go to Japan every year, and I was wondering if any of you would know a lodge that I could visit in Tokyo. Note that my lodge is not regular, so I could not visit any lodge recognised by the GLUE.
Besides that, I eager to discuss and exchange opinions with Masons from other cultures, countries, and obediences.

Just because your Obedience isn't recognized by another doesn't mean it isn't regular. In fact, I'd be very startled if your Obedience said it is not regular. I think we have some Japanese Brethren who hang in these parts. I also know of at least one active on another forum that I might be able to get visit here. Please enjoy your time in Tokyo

MTCF Fred,
My Obedience (Le Droit Humain) has a Pioneer Lodge in Tokyo. What is your Obedience?

CoraB, yes I know. One of my Sister is in a DH lodge in Belgium, and I'll try to go to the Tokyo lodge thanks to her introduction. However, if there is a possibility to visit other lodges from other obediences that would be fun. On top of that, I'll be there from 09 to 25 July, and there calendar does not show anything after the 6th.
imakegarb, my lodge and my obedience certainly consider themselves as regular. That being said, it is a fact that we are not recognised by the GLUE, and when I meet Brethren of the Regular Grand Lodge of Belgium, they call me "Sir". Some times ago, I contacted a lodge in the region of Washington, because I was there for my job. I asked them if I could attend one of their meetings (sorry, I do not know the English equivalent of the French "tenue"), and they said that, if I was not coming from an obedience recognised by the GLUE, I could not. I guess a lot of us have the same problem.
joyrock, yes there is the language difference. However, the common elements of all the rituals are helpful. Some time ago, I was in a Spanish speaking lodge in Belgium. Even though the ritual was very different from mine, this was still masonry, and I could feel that "thing" that is conveyed by all the rituals. So the language difference was not really an obstacle (now, it's true tha Spanish is a latin language, as French, and I could more or less understand).
Thanks to all for your answers.
Frederic

I forgot to say that my obedience is a French micro-obedience, the Grand Loge Universelle Libre, which is federating a few lodges in South of France and Italy. It was created, from what I heard, by masons coming from the GLNF. My lodge accepts and initiates men and women and, to my knowledge, it is probably the only mixed lodge that is using the Rite écossais rectifié. It was founded eight years ago by masons coming from different obediences (DH, GLF, GOB, GLTSO, OITAR,...), and we regularly have visitors coming from those obediences.

Hello Bro. Frederic and welcome to the forum.
Thanks for sharing some more information about your Obedience; I personally enjoy learning of the various and diverse GLs around the world.

I am so glad to see that members of the GLNF founded a new Co-Masonic Order. The sleeping dragon is awakening.

Bro. Fred, I am a Scottish mason in japan and i did some hunting around but it seems that it will be difficult to get you into a lodge over here. The GLOS, UGLE and GLOJ are the operating jurisdictions here and it seems that they may all have issues as to your joining one of their meetings.... I am truly sorry that there is nothing more than I can do..... I sincerely hope that you find something tho... S&F
