It looks like Installation next year will not be going ahead as planned.Grand Lodge of Scotland are dragging there heels and throwing obstacles in the way.
Thats a great pity because we worked very hard behind the scenes to get the go ahead from GL of Florida.
Kudos must go to the GM and GS, DDGM they did a great job on granting us a dispensation .

Normaly when a Scottish lodge visits another constitution to work a degree, the host lodge will go to refreshment, or call off, and the visiting lodge will confer a demonstraton degree. In Scotland we can confer all degrees on actual candidates within our own constitution, but a Scottish lodge,( according to our Laws and Constitutions), can only Pass or Raise a brother of a sister constitution and which "extends a reciprocal privilege".
With regards the Installed Masters ceremony our Laws state that it "may also be communicated to a Master or Past Master of a Lodge under a Sister Grand Lodge with permission from Grand Committee".
Basicly it can only be conferred upon a reigning Master, etc.
I'm not sure what obstacles are being thrown in the way but in Scotland it is the body of Grand Committee which makes most of the decisions regarding the Scottish craft. This body is made up of Grand Lodge officers and numerous PM's from within the Scottish Craft.
