After 231 years we're still working on it and don't yet have it quite right. but as a whole aren't we better off for the Great American Experiment?

Why thank you. At a raising yesterday morning worshipful called all veterans to the west side of the altar to be recognized. That was very nice to be honored in that fashion.

I spent the day gathering wild herbs and strawberries and eating all the salmon berries I could get (I was the only one in my group who likes them ;D ) and sitting under a huge rose arbor and talking til dark. Then, at 10 p.m., we went to the highest peak we could find and watched the fireworks bloom over four cities - Portland, Salem, Albany and Corvallis.
I am worried about my country but I still believe in the ideals upon which she was founded.
Thank you everyone who wished me such a good day (it was) ;D
