Well I'm proud to say I'm now an Entered Apprentice in Masonry. It was awesome! My father-in-law, a PM was there as well, he and I were so happy. It was nothing like I thought. Everyone was very laid back and casual, but not so casual as to be disturbing. More business casual and I felt very comfortable. It was very different having so much attention put on me, but I really felt like I belonged in the group. I now understand why the initiation is so unforgettable. This will stay with me for many, many years.

Congratulations Brother on taking your fist step.
Now would be a good time to get out and visit other Lodges and see frome the side lines what went on.

Sound advice Michael. Welcome to the forum, btw. When you have time pop over to the "new members" board and tell us a bit about yourself

Welcome, brother. Michael's advice is sound. If you know of an Initiation occurring soon, get yourself to it. It really puts it all together for you - not only do you see the events that occurred while you were absent, you'll also gain a much greater understanding of what happened when you were present. If you don't know of one nearby, then our fellow formites may be able to sort you out for an invitation to one. I was Initiated at the end of September, and I've now visited 3 lodges - all Initiations. Two were thanks to members of this forum, and the third was at my greant-uncle's lodge. Check out Carl H. Claudy Source's Introduction to Freemasonry: Entered Apprentice and J.S.M. Ward's The Entered Apprentice's Handbook. The latter is quite esoteric, though is still a good read. Lastly, if you didn't get a copy when you were handed the Constitutions and Byelaws, get yourself a copy of the "Peterborough Booklet #1" After the First Degree, too. It helps to explain what's happened, why, and what next. Your lodge secretary should be able to help you out, otherwise any of the regalia stores (online or not) should be able to assist.
