Hi, I have been interested freemasonry for a long time now but for the past time I have always kept myslef busy with selfeduction in life. Lately I have gotten more interest in the conversating and helping of others. I am looking for what matters to me and I have decided that it is not a path I will find on my own.
Therefor I would like to ask if someone could give me a hand and provide me with some more information about what freemasonry exactly is.
Thank you all in regard.

Welcome to the forum.
I'll try.
Freemasonry means different things to different people; sometime the form of Masonry they become involved in shapes their future conduct and future opinions... for better or worse. It usually is a matter of perspective.
Masonry helps most people become better individuals, but for others it will make no positive difference to their lives. Ultimately everything is dependent on the individual.
For some people Freemasonry is and will remain a challenge, for others it is the most natural thing in the world.
There are nearly as many different Masonic Bodies in existences today as there are differences in options about them; some will simply go with whatever lodge is closest to them while others will be lead greater distances in the hope of finding a true [to them] Masonic home.
For some Freemasonry is only for men, while others will recognise there is no sound reason why a woman cannot also be a Mason.
There are Masonic lodges that cater for men only, women only and women and men together.
Whatever your good reasons are for wishing to learn more about Freemasonry I wish you well.

Thanks for the information.
Are there any specific thinks I should keep in mind when searching for such a Lodge?

Basically follow your heart and trust your instincts.
Good luck to you.

Belgium is rich in Masonry. You can contact www.gob.be for example or any of a numerous of different Masonic Orders. As I say follow your heart when deciding what approach is right for you. Bonne chance!

Thanks and yes we have quit a old culture containing lots of lodges and guilds how it used to be called in here but the ones I have already looked in don't realy talk to me ( meaning they dont seem to be the right thing for me) And others require the age of 21 and I am only recently become 19. But I will search the site and will also search for some freemasons in here to meet and ask them about their own experience. Oh and that is what I wanted to ask if I personaly asked a freemason about his lodge would he be allowed to sencerely talk about it with me in his own true opinion? Merci, beaucoup. But im from the dutch part of belgium

In dat geval kunt u mijn excuses. 19 is a great age to search for the light, usually at such an age you haven't taken on too many preconceived ideas and prejudices... the world is still a [fairly] blank canvas. Keep on searching. And when you think you have found what you are looking for, you have only just began. All of life is a journey - enjoy it!
