It was noted by those of us who attended and were strategically located in the Gods(!) that Bro. Bob Morrow was in attendance at the meeting. Things are, as I understand it, still sub-judicy. But in time, it is hoped that further announcements will be made, when the appeals process has run its course. Proton This say's to me that there is a possibility that this will all blow over. I would have expected him at this level to be on garden leave and would have been told best to avoid the place. Shall see I guess S&F Richard

Just to keep this tread updated on events. I attended the Quarterly at GQS today. No announcement was made about a replacement GSec. But, the Pro GM did state that the new post of Grand Chancellor will be created specifically to deal with all the overseas issues. etc. {do not all rush to get your applications in! } Whether or not this will be a salaried post remains to be seen. Additionally, there will be a Facilities Manager who will be responsible for all the matters pertaining to running the building, maintenance, security, etc. Inference here being that the incumbent could be a non mason and perhaps a woman! It is assumed that this will be a salaried post. As such these above mentioned duties and responsibilities will not form part of a new G Secs remit. Thereby lightening the load! It was noted by those of us who attended and were strategically located in the Gods(!) that Bro. Bob Morrow was in attendance at the meeting. Things are, as I understand it, still sub-judicy. But in time, it is hoped that further announcements will be made, when the appeals process has run its course. Proton I thought there already was someone in charge of the building. In fact I know there is, I've had letters from him .... Maybe this means the role won't come under the GSec office in future. As for him/her not being a Mason, if the library staff are not Masons (apart from the tour guides) then I don't see why the building manager has to be. In fact I'm sure I recall that the ad for the GSec's role last time around said non-Masons could apply. And as for situations being sub-judice ... as I've predicted before, I don't think we will never know what happened. Good to see some of the plans being outlined. I wonder how long the implementation will take. S&F, Julian

Steve What is for sure it will be a brave man who accepts the position, given the unique point that UGLE is currently at in its own development. quote] For those of us who live in the Nether regions of Freemasonry (Cheshire), can you clarify what the unique point is? Sorry, I can't get the hang of how this quote thing works!

That's assuming he's the innocent party in all this.. From my experience there are very few reasons a top exec is dropped in such an unceremonious fashion and it's rarely the company's fault. S&F Richard True. Our VGO has suggested that he was either at an overseas lodge or entertaining an overseas visitor - whatever, it was a formal masonic do - and he got plastered and verbally abused some Grand Pumba. There is also a suggestion of unreasonably high expenses that he`d previously be warned about. Apparently another case of abosolute power...
