Hi All,
I have a question about the 3 stones that described in masonic Jacob ladder. The 3 stones are as follow: 1) Ashlar stone – what we want to achieve. 2) The Altar 3) Power stone – where Jacob turn the well stone while he saw beautiful Rachel (it takes several draft animals to move this stone) – Jacob demonstrate his power by moving the stone.
I heard this story once in my lodge and I am looking for related documents or any information about the Jacobs ladder stones. Thanks in advance.

Genesis 28:18 And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.
Meanwhile Jacob is considered by Sitchin to derive from Ea-gub that he says means a pillar erected to Ea (Ja?). While Sitchin's translations can be disputed, I have found a dictionary that gives gub as: to stand, erect, install. And a derivative of gub as: to purify, cleanse
Thus it is likely that the story of Jacob setting up a stone pillar is an adaptation of something else since he himself is the pillar.
Since Jacob observes the "angels" ascending and descending, he may be observing a transit point such as Babel. Babel - from Sumerian Bab-Ilu - gateway of the gods.
Baalbek may be such a place with its huge stone structure.
Meanwhile there is yet another meaning as in Masonic ritual that Jacob's stone reappears elsewhere as "the mysterious porphyry stone". Why is it mysterious and why is it porphyry?
It is important to note that the "mysterious ladder" that appears in various parts of Masonry is veiled not revealed by Jacob's ladder.

In legend one of the stones from Jacob's Pillow is the Stone of Scone.

the "mysterious porphyry stone" Apart from its use in other degrees you could do worse than read it on wiki en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porphyry_%28geology%29or www.saudiaramcoworld.com/issue/199806/via.porphyrites.htmand it is also said to be the stone that Noah used at the base of his ark because it had magnetic properties. His particular stone is said to come from a particular area of the north shore on the black sea on the asian side of turkey. However......... Porphyry of Tyre Porphyrios; c. 234 – c. 305 AD was a Neoplatonic philosopher who was born in Tyre. He edited and published the Enneads, the only collection of the work of his teacher Plotinus. He also wrote many works himself on a wide variety of topics. His Isagoge, or Introduction, is an introduction to logic and philosophy, and in Latin translation it was the standard textbook on logic throughout the Middle Ages.[4] In addition, through several of his works, most notably Philosophy from Oracles and Against the Christians, he was involved in a controversy with a number of early Christians, and his commentary on Euclid's Elements was used as a source by Pappus of Alexandria see again wiki en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porphyry_%28philosopher%29and phoenicia.org/porphyry.html............It was Longinus who gave Porphyry that nickname. In fact it was a clever pun since 'Porphyry' means 'purple' in Greek and he was given this name since he came from Tyre which was famous for the production of the royal purple dye and his name 'Malchus' meant 'king' = 'royal' = 'purple'.

I had a retaining wall built along the side of my house, and I chose to use porphyry because of its Masonic connection. The stone was an off-white colour. As it happened a stone forming an isosceles triangle about 1 meter high was in the wall, just across the drive from my eldest son's bedroom.
After a couple of weeks I noticed that there was a nature spirit concealed within that triangular stone and pointed it out to my son.
A week later he came and told me that the nature spirit had come into his room. I asked how that had happened. He said: I asked it to come in and it did. He was 6 years old at the time. Years later when he had become more rational he had no memory of the event
So does the mysterious porphyry stone potentially conceal an intelligence? Is that how Jacob had such interesting dreams while resting upon it?

So does the mysterious porphyry stone potentially conceal an intelligence? Is that how Jacob had such interesting dreams while resting upon it? It seems porphyry stone is made of mostly quartz and feldspar ...I read that quartz is mostly silicon and oxygen in the form of dual tetrahedrons so two 3-dimensional spinning pyramids ...In theory i believe the quartz has a high affinity of trapping light within it's structure.. givin the silicon and oxygen are there including mineral contents of feldspar ...could porphyry stone create a sort of alchemical process of drawing certain etheric forces within its vibrational frequency ...and being that its a very solid mass the energy or light trapped within it has a easier process of conducting it self within our 5 material senses without humans using much effort or extra sensory processes...thus when one falls asleep and the light body takes over the porphyry acts as sort of a etheric launchpad of sorts...and being that its color falls within the spectrum of ultraviolet could it also be easier for certain spirits or entity's to be drawn to its vibrational frequency's..which would give them a sort of conduit into the more material realm of physical form...

>porphyry acts as sort of a etheric launchpad of sorts
In my experience the etheric body of stones extends throughout the galaxy. Thus a suitable rock can act like somewhat like a web-enabled mobile phone across the galaxy.
Quartz is particularly good for this.
