ive come across and downloaded a masonic font. There is a link on the forum somwhere that goes to a puzzle, the puzzle is written a masonic letter style. Can anyone throw ant light on this or is it just made up. Is there any history that comes with. Its made from lines and dots, the lines are in right angles.

Are you referring to the Masonic or Freemasons Cipher? An example of it can be found here, about a third of the way down the page. I learned a variant of this in 5th or 6th grade in primary school. Based on this, I've been able to decipher all except a few letters of it (the sample sets I've obtained aren't large enough for decent cryptanalysis), so I've not bothered to pursue it any further. There was also an example of it in the Winter 2002 (Vol.1 No.4; Issue 4) of A Fourth Part of a Circle magazine. A cipher appeared on the bottom of the front page, and another on page 4 of this edition. You can actually see it on the link provided, or directly here (albeit hard to read). I don't know its history, unfortunately.

It's a simple cipher based on the Alphabet, on which a Mark Masons Mark is based. I have a translation for private dissemination.

After looking at the link, it is The masonic Alphabet as practised in The Mark Degree as Doric has stated. If you are thinking of joining the Mark dont look to closely or you might spoil something for the future!

Mumblings. I inclinded to agree with Lee. It's probably best not to delve too far into these things and therefore ruin what awaits you.
