BEGER: Prove exactly the inner contents of the earth, help it along here and there, and in this way you shall come to the hidden stone, the true medicine.
Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Inveniens Occultum Lapidem Veram Medicinam (V.I.T.R.I.O.L.V.M.)
See in the interior of the purified earth, and you will find the secret stone, the true medicine.

1. Ref.: The word & letters V.I.T.R.I.O.L.: Heinrich Khunrath in his work on Alchemy writes the word 'Vitriolum'.
Would this change the above meaning in any dramatic way? Would be interested to know the meaning.
2. Ref.: The famous drawing (circle) from the Tabula Smaragdina Hermetis in which the words V.I.T.R.I.O.L. are also written:
Although I do not know the actual age of the the actual drawing i.e., if it is in fact older than the one I have already mentioned I thought it perhaps worth mentioning again.
3. Ref.: Use of the word in Masonry: I also found the letters in an old photograph of the 'Chamber of Reflection' of the GLOF in an article called "The Masons, their Rites & Rituals" by Jean-Pierre Bayard (Member-Supreme Council - Grand Lodge of France) in a magazine called 'Ariadne's Web' 1995 (CIRCES & OSTI etc.). Just more sidbits, I'm not a member. I can scann & post the small drawing & the old photograph if you like.
