Brethren
The Hamlet of Van Lodge will be holding a comedy murder mystery night on the Regular Lodge night 28th April at 7 pm to raise funds for the 2010 festival. It is called the “The Poisoned Parachutist” and has been written by a Brother of the Lodge.
Set in World War II, the plot is based in the Windy Bottom Manor Estate, home to the Special Operations Executive, Britain’s wartime secret service.
Captain Rodney Smythe, SOE’s brightest young agent has been mysteriously murdered just before he was due to parachute into France. Do you think you’re good at solving mysteries? Then why not join the rest of the Hamlet of Van in Caerphilly in the dining room as they try to figure out “who dunnit”
There will be a meal provided and since this is a mixed family night everyone over the age of 8 are invited.
Price of the ticket is £10 for adults and £7 for children.

Rather after the event but thought I would let you know how it went
We had over 80 present (ladies, gentlemen, brethren and children) and a fabulous time was had by all (they are still talking about it in Caerphilly). We may even get some interest in joining from one or two of the gentlemen present - a nice byproduct of the evening.
Taking everything into account we raised just over £400 for the 2010 Festival for the Grand Charity
