Look for a fat bald bloke wearing a Shriners lapel pin, I don't think there will be anyone else with one of those Dining tickets are sold out, though I doubt if they will fill the Grand Temple which holds about 1,720. The event has been advertised on the notice boards in all the Lodge rooms at GQS for many months. S&F, Julian

It was a wonderful event. Due to the bombs that went off parts of the London Underground were closed. The meeting started around 5.30pm. Russell Race the Deputy Met GM was in attendance as was the Pro GM, The Marquis of Northampton. A member of Britannic gave a short history of the lodge, which was well received. Then John Hamill, UGLE Director of Communications gave a talk about Freemasonry and the Royal Connection. He spoke for 25 minutes, in his own unique style without any notes! The celebratory dinner took place on one of City Cruises Riverboats. About 150 brethren sat down to a delicious five course dinner, of Salmon salad, soup, Roast lamb and seasonal vegetables, chocolate gateau and cream. Lastly coffee. With ample glasses of either red or white wine! Entertainment was provided by members of Chelsea lodge. We cast off from the Embankment at about 7.30pm and our cruise passed Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, the BA London Eye, St Paul's, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, the Tower of London, London Bridge, HMS Belfast, Canary Wharf and lastly Greenwich Naval College. Then the journey back began, mooring at the Embankment at 10.30 pm. A great time was enjoyed by all! Proton

Well Staffs, Plenty of toasts! But no fire! Because you could not tyle the banqueting room we were all in! But a good time was had by all and it was a memorable occasion Proton
