Now, all things Inside i thought I would post a question based on the belief that God created man "in his own image."
Does this mean that God is a fallible, jealous, petty and vindictive life form or does this mean that within us lay our own God?
Opinions?

What God said was "we will make him in our image" which opens another conundrum, OUR ?
Answer = YES
Which means the real struggle in life is to subdue some passions and cultivate others.

I would think to create God in "our" own image would be counter productive. ;D
If there is a Creator I sure do hope he is far above what we as humans have to offer.
I am a humanist thus a huge fan of a humanity but I have found nothing in us as a species as of yet that could create a star.

In the Jewish tradition being(s) translated into English as God are one or more of the Elohim who are both male and female. Those gods are not the same as the Source of All
The Elohim do not always live up to human ethical standards and if choosing one to follow I suggest looking for one that is neither vengeful nor jealous

In Genisis: 26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Just to add a masonic tone: 21 The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. 22 And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." 23 So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. 24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.
We have heard the Phrase 'Vengeance in mine sayeth the Lord' justice particularly in the old testament was swift and awful.

I have always looked at the "in our image" as being Father, Son, and Spirit. There are a few other references to "our" in Genesis.

IMO. I would think that the "our" is the spirit, soul, and body of the divinity on a smaller scale. Does that mean that He is all those negative vices? No, it means at times I can be. Freemasonry gives me the chance to increase in virtue and decrease in my vices. To draw closer and form a union with the God of my beliefs. Again, I.M.O. Thanks ;D

Looking around I can't help but be reminded of the comment that if God created us in his own image, he must be one funny looking duck.

At the level which God created us, we didn't look like anything! Maat

In my opinion I think its meant in the sense that mankind as a collective at its pinnacle can be compared to God.
