Is anyone here an active member of Martinism or a past member? It would be good to discuss what differences there are between the different orders :-)

Is it the case that a lodge can be formed with only one initiate? No. I have spoken with Martinists in Germany, Denmark and Sweden who insist this is the case. Perhaps it depends on the Order? Love and Light,

Regarding Freemasonry, our ritual informs us:
From what I understand, Martinism also requires group work.

... or do you mean the 4th degree Initiate? Yeah, I think that's what he means. Wickedsquirrel- you're not going to get much response to the original question. Martinism tends to be pretty sub rosa.

Martinism tends to be pretty sub rosa.I am far from an expert in Martinist degree system. I have just heard from Martinists in causal conversation that it only takes one initiate to form a lodge.

It could be possible, I guess, if one individual 'hives off' from an existing Martinist lodge. It could depend on the Rite, too, I suppose. Some groups have self dedication/initiation ceremonies so it can be done.
Not an expert on Martinism, btw. I have an open invite to one group, but just don't have the time to really devote myself.

I guess there was no real question. The original poster of this thread has not yet returned.
