If we somehow became fed up or annoyed with our government and/or the monetary system how would we dismantle it without a single shot?
Simple, get everyone in the world to quit there job simultaneously.
The only thing that would remain is the military.
Do you think we would be forced to work? Slaves if you may.
Or we could mechanize every aspect of our society and thus no longer depend on human labor therefore creating a free society. (with the exception of maintenance guys who im sure could work pro-boner with elevated status.
Do you think with the destruction of competition there would be a reduction of excellence?

If you read Rand's ATLAS SHRUGGED, it is about the same thing you suggest but inverted. Japan purportedly will replace 20% of its workforce with robots and machines in the next decade or so, as their population is decreasing to the point they will require aid. As for the destruction of competition, it might be useful to look at the failed USSR and the 'Capita-Communistic' Chinese, who are at the forefront of the countries damaging the environment, yet remain virtually untouchable in the world sphere. People were mistaken to think Communism and Capitalism could not function together. Communism is a government, Capitalism is an economy. Personally, I think the world is doing just fine in destroying itself.
