Greeting to all members I was recently raised to MM in April in the Willows Lodge No.5343 I've recently had offers to join Royal Arch and also Mark and would appreciate members thoughts on this - what reasons should I think about before deciding ? should I wait until my knowledge of the Craft has improved , Circumstances at the minute make it impractical to join both and I don't want to let anybody down by declining their offers of proposal etc into these additional orders.
All thoughts and advice gratefully received

Hi Jeff and welcome.
You will get many differing opinions. Personally I would say join Chapter first. But there is no panic. If you enjoy the Craft you will enjoy Royal Arch. Mark is fine no problems there. But there is the question of you pocket and your time.
There are many orders you can enter, all have something to offer. Again , with the but - it is at your pace not anyone elses.

Thank you Bill for your reply I do indeed thoroughly enjoy Craft but as you are already aware in order to understand the meanings behind the ritual (not just learn the ritual verbatim) will take time and effort.

Jeff, As Bill said, do it in your own time. Don't let anyone rush you. It is quite alright to sit in Craft for a while and take it in; maybe just attend, or take an officer's position if one is offered, watch and familiarise yourself with the openings, watch others go through their degrees. And when the time feels right to you then consider joining the other lodges. But its all your choice; be your own man, of your own free will and accord. Of your own freewill is your first and most emphatic lesson, emphasised every step of the way.

Thank you Crossbow for taking the time to offer your advice. thank you also for pointing out it should be of my own free will and not just to please others.
