Does anyone practice this ritual regularly as a solo practitioner?
If so what are the benefits and risks?
I'm thinking about using it as a method of clearing my living space of unwanted entities if there are any and as a means of progressing towards enlightenment.
I've heard that the LBRP can open doors to the 'other side', but in that case wouldn't the LBRP itself be an effective tool for banishing any unwanted interference?

I have practiced it a couple of times but they are not really the sort of crowd that I hang out with. Indeed as figures they seem rather miscast by various ancient and medieval theological writers.
Although there was a woman I knew well, who, when in a life-threatening situation - hair dryer in her bath - saw Michael who said: I stand before you (ie between her and the danger). She survived with no damage.
Clearing entities generally requires an understanding of why they are there. Brute force is usually ineffective - particularly if they have a standing invitation to reside there. The invitation may be human or from structural or earth formations or from other intelligences.
In my childhood I used to see Julius Sumner Miller, a physicist on TV and always, having demonstrated a phenomenon, he would ask: Why is it so?
This is the fundamental question for all those dealing with unwanted entities.
For example I shared a house with a fellow who complained to me of possession. I went through several cycles of evicting the entity but it always remained. I was told that I was evicting it but it was immediately returning because of the fellow's deliberate negativity. It seemed that he knew he should not live there but did not leave. This negativity was an invitation to any passing dark entity.

What/whom are you referring to when you say that they are not the sort of crowd that you hang out with?
Are you referring to the archangels referenced in the LBRP?
How do you feel about the LBRP as a means of helping to remain mentally balanced and clear the mind of negative emotions?

>Are you referring to the archangels referenced in the LBRP?
They are called archangels in the OT but I note that they needed food and shelter.
>LBRP as a means of helping to remain mentally balanced and clear the mind of negative emotions?
It is certainly useful to turn the attention to higher plane energies to limit the energy given to mental and emotional negativities. But still the question remains: why is it so that negative thoughts and feelings are present?
I knew a woman who thought that she was being affected by the negative thoughts of others - to the point that she would not tell anyone when she was traveling in the hope of avoiding adverse events. She was a very good woman, charitable and polite.
I spoke to her on the phone and after a while I seemed to see a dark shape just behind her, of a similar size to herself. And I started to think that her pressure to be positive had alienated her unadjusted (darker) parts and that they were demanding attention.
So I pointed out the dark shape and invited her to love it and to allow it to merge with her. Immediately she had warm pleasant energy flows in her body. She did not complain again about being affected by the adverse thoughts of others.
It is necessary for all humans to redeem their darkness. Using light to reject one's own darkness is not sustainable.
The question then comes as to what are efficient means of resolving one's own darkness. The easiest means is to grow out of it by lifting the vibration of the light body and healing its trauma.

Currently I'm doing a form of meditation that is very effective in terms of enhancing perception and I'm beginning to notice some mild third eye activity (a small flashing orb that I can vaguely see when my eyes are open).
I have however noticed that anger is still a vice and something obviously has to be done so I was thinking of resorting to the LBRP. I live in an area where people are generally fools but it would also be unwise of me to forget 'as within so without' and what little I've read of the Buddha's teachings regarding anger.
The concern about dark spirits is more of just a means of covering my bases. Someone whose third eye had opened was over my house and said that a malicious spirit was present. This was a young person however, and not an initiate of any spiritual system. Plus with me having next to no experience with those faculties I'm not sure how to discern accurate from inaccurate visions.

>anger is still a vice
Do you see that you have decided that anger is separate from you and attacks you? This is not how to embrace your wounded parts.
When I deal with people deeply traumatized over several lives, early on I look to see if they are angry. If they are not then I can do nothing with them. Without that internal anger (against their situation) there is not an energy source to drive the process of establishing wholeness - integration of the all the parts.
>people are generally fools
May I suggest that we all live in layers of illusion. Lack of compassion for our slightly junior brethren is not a virtue.
I recall many years ago I dreamed that I could fly above the Earth. Each time I landed there were a couple of dogs hanging around my legs. I would push them away and fly off. Each time however I flew less high and eventually I was on the Earth with the dogs. Shortly after I understood the dogs to be part of my emotional structure and that I needed to have right relationship with them.
The same holds true for the human race of which we are currently a part.
>said that a malicious spirit was present
Certainly a darker entity present. So we might ask:
- What sort of entity is it? - What does it want? - Why is it there?
In this case I would consider if formerly the land had been important to the local tribe. You may like to pay your respects to the traditional owners and their spirits.

"Certainly a darker entity present"
If this doesn't reveal anything that you can't reveal, please elaborate. Does your certainty stem from considering my previous comments or from clairvoyance?
At any rate thanks once again for the help.

> Does your certainty stem from considering my previous comments or from clairvoyance?
When I read "Someone whose third eye had opened was over my house and said that a malicious spirit was present" I could see the scene.
The "darker entity" is not evil. It is doing its job and protecting the location. It has not necessarily been placed by the traditional owners but I rather think that they have dealt with it.
Your options are:
- establish good relations with it if you wish to be comfortable - induce it or yourself to move to a better place - take it out of existence if appropriate - but I will not show you or anyone that thinks that anger is a vice.
The traditional owners may help you with the first two.

I think the good relations part is appropriate-- but the taking out of existence thing seems extreme unless I'm mistaken when I think of the entity as a deceased human spirit. Is it something more akin to a nature spirit or an entity that was created specifically to protect the area? In those cases I'm not sure how those sorts of beings operate-- whether they have free will and their degree of sentience.
Also why did you say "you or anyone that thinks anger is a vice"?
I see what you're saying about loving the wounded aspects of yourself but how would anger not be considered a vice? It leads to impulsive action and generally to creating bad situations for yourself and those around you unless it is anger used as 'fuel' for a self-defense situation.

>more akin to a nature spirit or an entity that was created specifically
It may be both.
>whether they have free will
Generically nature spirits can be referred to as "the army of the voice" being driven by the "word" usually sounded by higher devas
>their degree of sentience
Most of your own sentience is provided by indwelling nature spirits - hence the importance of recognizing the origins of anger.
>how would anger not be considered a vice?
It is the sign of a problem
>It leads to impulsive action
Only in those that cannot control their indwelling spirits - the bulk of humanity at present.
Suppressing the indwelling spirits is not the way to wholeness.

One more question about the LBRP:
On the thread when we were discussing Queraia you advised against the second form of meditation due to the potential to damage the body. Are you aware of any similar dangers with the LBRP or is that ritual safe in regards to the effects of the energetic body?
Idk if you're all that familiar with the ritual but I figured I'd ask. I know you said certain types of practice can have that effect but I'm not sure where something like this ritual would fit in on the spectrum.

>Are you aware of any similar dangers with the LBRP
The members of the OTO practiced the LBRP regularly. All the OTO biographies that I have read have been tragedies - none lived happily ever after.
Perhaps that was not down to the LBRP - but as I have intimated above, the idea that you can bind entities is dangerous and is contrary to this phase of unfoldment of the the solar system.
Right relationship is the key until the next pralaya.
One of the problems is, even when the practitioner is not attempting force, the practitioner's own internal entities may not be in balance (e.g. the angry ones) so that increasing the inflow of light increases the instability.
Put your attention to the flame of Spirit that anchors in the heart. Use that to fill the body with light - spending time in each part of the body to enliven the cells and etheric flows.
Leave entities to others.

Okay. I tried it a few times yesterday, but it wasn't to banish any entities. In fact I left my house to perform it because I don't want offend the spirit that lives there as well.
I did it as more of an enlightenment technique, but the second part of the answer is very relevant.
One thing I did notice is that I saw a lot of animals after performing the ritual which was pretty interesting.
As far as the technique you mentioned goes, would you want to visualize the flame as being Green to symbolize the Heart chakra, or more like the Sacred Heart of Christ?

> would you want to visualize the flame as being Green to symbolize the Heart chakra
The observed color of the flame changes over time as the anchoring of Spirit becomes stronger and clearer.
The light leaf green color is typically associated with the nature spirit that operates the heart chakra - when it is functioning well. That entity is not the anchor itself.

It is common for animals to be attracted to ritual.
I was married in an outdoor ceremony - just the legal formalities - next to a small lake. Part way through various types of water birds headed towards our little group and made a large amount of noise. Everyone noticed the event.
