All prophecy ceased for Jews and Christian Jews after the destruction of Herod's Temple at Jerusalem, but seers continued to appear in other milieux.
Nostradamus is the most famous, as well as Mother Shipton and Scotland's finest, the Brahan Seer, who wrote in Gaelic.
A man who outdoes all of these is the enigmatic Paracelsus
He wrote 70 enigmatic prophecies with a drawing for each.
