Well, now it's official. I have just been handed the application papers, and the date is confirmed:
November 23, 19.00 (a Wednesday). Hafnia - St. John Lodge Copenhagen
Now, some of you mentioned dropping by, and even if it was only in jest, the offer still stands: you are all very welcome!
(I thought it was a big enough deal (to me at least!) that I would give it its own thread.)

I will certainly take you up on the offer - I shall consult with my lodge secretary and mark it in my diary ;D

Excellent news - a bit too far for me to travel (not least as it is my lodge's Installation on 24th and TGAOTU permitting I will be going into the Chair) but all the very best for that night

Arrgh!
Just realised there is a potential clash here!
If I am to make Wayne's installtion and Thom's initation I'm going to have to be in Copenhagen on Wednesday and Caerphilly on Thursday!
Gonna have to look at this carefully!

Well, Bod, we'll just have to do the Copenhagen pub crawl some other time and stick to business ...
The airport is easily accessible – like, 15 minutes in either a cab or by train.
I realise it's not just around the corner for anyone here, and I will consider any forumites at my Initiation an added bonus. But the offer still stands: you are all very welcome, and I'll do my best to make the visit an enjoyable one.

Not sure - I suspect she would rather I give her the equivalent amount in cash to spend in the shops of her choice without having to fly anywhere!
So if I take the Weds Thursday & Friday off work I go to Copenhagen Weds, return Thursday, drive to Caerphilly..........do-able....

The Order had guests from Birmingham recently (visiting the lodge Christian), and they were given a translation of the Initiation ritual. When the event is a little bit closer I'll talk to my Proposer and warn him about your coming over, and see if I can't get you the translations - might enhance the experience considerably.

Well, I am very much hoping to be there Thom, for those of us who are going, do we need to do anything 'protocol' wise? Does your lodge need any info from us Thom?

Unfortunately co-masonic brethren might not be welcome.... Probably not (although I don't mind asking if you're interested – actually, I am curious as to how they would frame their answer). But! I think Le Droit Humain (lodge Odin) meets on Wednesdays as well (and they're just 200m from where I live), so you could have a lodge meeting with them and spend the rest of the time with us – dinner is ensured, and I'll try to set up a good tour at the impressive Freemason's Hall.

I have had word re. protocol: Contact my Proposer directly. I will PM his email to those who have expressed interest (no purchase necessary ). It's not as easy getting to see the Hall here as in GQS, but he'll set something up, if there is an interest. You might also want to see other degrees if you have the time. For the Initiation you should show up at the Hall at 17:45, wearing what is your standard dress code for lodge and bringing your regalia. Ask the Guard to be shown to the office of Hafnia Lodge (but we'll hook before that, so I'll see you get there safely).
