who "OWNS" freemasonry is a leading question. My investigations into life etc. suggest that we don't really "own" anything. I presume the real question was meant to be "who CONTROLS freemasonry" That depends on which particular branch/degree you belong to and it's method of permitting democratic fnctioning. (IE the rules). We should ALL be able to have some input on how our Clubs/Assemblies/Organisations run their affairs, even forming 'closed' groupings that, by their particular constitution prevent 'outsiders' gaining OR wanting admission. As posted previously above, Religion is a good example, with very few within those varied groups denying adherents to other churches are not religious/spiritual. It only seems to be particular Brn. in Freemasonry that wish to Purport to have the Authority to claim who are Masons & who are not. This only does a great disservice to a great & wonderful Craft that can offer so much to humanity, by setting an example on how mankind should treat their fellow beings.
Who cares "who controls freemasonry' let's just get on with it and treat Bro. as Bro. (It certainly isn't 'T.G.A.O.T.U." he just keeps a watching brief.)
sbs59: Can someone help me with this question. I was a Master Mason for 4 years until last year. My father died and i left the Masons as i was depressed about his death. Can i now re join a lodge?

The Ancient: sbs59: Were you suspended for non payment of dues? if so, square up and petition the lodge for a restatement vote. If your dues are current, your still a member. In this case, it is all about the Benjamins.
