To my mind secret societies are the triad, tongs, union cross, the mafia, etc. I do not think that a group of soberly dressed men going into a building in the center of a town, Temple are usually sited in the centers of town in the UK, can be classed as a secret society. Rule 1 when making a statement like that please look up your definitions in the Oxford English dictionary

I do not know if this is the right section or even if I am allowed to post this on the forum, but, here goes. Much to my surprise I have been chosen to take part in the Help for Heroes European Rally 2010 . Originally I was told that I had not made it and had to wait until 2011. I informed my Lodge, Mihhehaha 2363 in Manchester, and it was decided that the charity money, promised me for this event, would go to another charity. Last Friday I got a phone call telling me that a team had to drop out and being first reserve would I be willing to take part, well I said yes straight way. The charity www.h4hrally.co.uk raises money for injured service personnel and having several friends and brothers who have been injured and have had to leave the various services, I felt that it is a well and worthy charity to support, as do my Lodge. The only problem being that all the others teams have had since September to raise funds, get there trucks into shape etc. I was wondering of any one on the forum would like to sponsor me, I have set up a giving page www.justgiving.com/Peter-Cowin, donate spares, buy advertising space for 12 months on my truck, help get my truck into top working order, etc. I live in Glossop in Derbyshire. I have not undertaken something like this for nearly 20 years so I am a bit out of practice. The rally is covering 3000 - 3500 miles through 10 European countries in about 12 days. I could do with all the help I can get so if you are interested please PM me. Thanks S&F Peter

Hello :)I am new to the site so I thought I would say hello and introduce myself. I do my Masonry in the province of East Lancashire and am a member of Minnehaha Lodge No 2363, Lodge of the Five Boroughs (Athelstan) & Royal Arch Chapter. I was initiated in 1991, so I have not been in the craft for too long. I look foreword to taking part in the forum as I use the old saying "a day without an increase in Masonic knowledge is a day wasted"
